So since I’ve had my cx500 for several years and yet to finish it I did the most logical/os thing and bought a 1980’s? 125xl with og black plates of Facebook last year and promptly got it running

plan waaas to fix rusted wheel and re-reg, but got carried away chopping off the gritty seat and back end

masked up so I can make a fibreglass seat base,

then a mate asked if I’d like a cub

of course I would

So I promptly drove over to Hamilton and grabbed it before he had second thoughts

needs suspension and re-reg (still got the old black plates)

failed getting it through as a moped and then figured since it’s going into winter and I’d already got a yx140 motor from @Raizer I’ll get it going more than 40km/h and sort rego later

Yeah just needed the frame ground a bit, have since seen one that they just heated and pulled the pipe out and squeezed a Hose straight in, what did you do with yours @Raizer

Also will need the clutch cable bracket moved a bit so I can still bolt The fairing on

also got the original side cover vapour blasted and I polished the cover and had a paint pen that’s close enough to the right colour

Mine came with a vent hose already fitted, my frame is fairly open behind the engine so it just threaded down around the swingarm mount.

Does that side cover fit on the 140? Mine wouldn’t .

Yeah.... nah

never mind bit of grinding on the back of the honda logo cover and a couple of holes

(anyone have a spare one for the other side?)

Thorndan Quay for the win, that's where I got mine done as well.

What part of the frame did you have to grind away and why? I've got a 125 in one of my C50s but I was thinking of a 140 for the new build.

Hey @Watchmaker, yeah vtnz was casual as,

the bit with the White mark above the crank in the frame  (the main tube that joins the headstock to the body) as it was fouling on the black cap bit which is the breather tube for the motor, but I've since heard of people heating the metal tube and removing and just jamming a bit of Flexi hose straight in the hole
