Obviously they blow if you turn them N/S, the cranks isnt going to withstand the change in forces of 90 degrees, even drift cars dont go that sideways

I'd have thought the K8 one would have been the lightest?  However I have a K8 one and from memory it does indeed look a little less cut away then that one of yours. I must check (for future V6 project plans you see...)

The K8 is the lightest (Marked up as K8-01 in the attached  picture). The other is a KF for comparison.

Well that's handy to know!  Cheers.

Yeah Steve. I've read that these engines will blow up if turned around to face the dark side of rwd.

Propaganda by the probe and mx6 fwd society! You must stay fwd. Its for the greater good..

Now more importantly... What are you upto with those flywheels Mr projectb10? I do hope there might be a little mazda v6 datsun or some thing getting built? :-)

Or are you a flywheel enthusiast?

Yup another interwebs myth busted ...

17lbs freedom units 7.7kgs KF

so yes it's worth buying manual mx3s for the k8 flywheel

Nope not mine.

These pictures show one of mine.

The Side view  shows the Lightened Fly on right. All the balancing boss' and approximately half the back side of the fly removed to reduce weight and then re balanced.

My effort is just a KLZE in a  Presso.

That's weird cause I measured it roughly with a ruler after you said and it looks like the pitch is 1.25 to me. I counted ten threads and it was 12.5 mm on the rule so I would think that means 1.25. In any case, I haven't ordered the bolts yet so no big deal. Thanks for chasing me up though.

Ok I may have confused myself then just checked again both engines and on the kit listing for crapengineering kits and it is M12x1.25

no idea what my brain was doing before sorry

Yeah being an unqualified school leaver, I'm doing the stupid hours bit but not so much the stupid money bit. Still, it pays for more car parts so I'm happy.

Not really. I'm a tradesman's assistant doing fitting work. Essentially I'm doing all the same stuff as the 30 year veterans but their experience means they're being paid twice as much.

Hey not sure because blurry photos but check the inlet ports. Klze heads have rectangular shaped ports.. Not oval. It looks like that might have the smaller oval ports. But yeah.. Blurry.

I hope for your sake I'm wrong and I'd so good find!

Edit: I just had another look.. It looks like they are rectangular but someone's fitted the wrong inlet gaskets from a 'lesser' engine :-)

Code looks right.

Sweet if so!
