The Dude
Hmmmm, I have a massive garage that you can fit this in, so its a great idea. Actually just negotiated some more space, so next couple of months you can move in with me and Neil.

moorepower
Chris, you have to make it like the Nacho truck... ...or let me know when you want to sell it and I'll make my own Nacho Truck *Note the badass '61 @ 3:09*

chris r
Can anyone recommend a place to get the carb tuned? I have set idle mixture and timing, Its running heaps better but still smells rich and hesitates/ uses way too much fuel
moorepower
Magnum in Kingsland would do it but it depends how much $$ you want to spend getting it right
chris r
I've ordered some exhaust gaskets and a carb calibration kit. Will get the mrs to pick up a new dizzy from segedins tomorrow as its cheaper than getting a new coil, cap, and rotor. Hopefully that will help the missfire and I'll know everything is good when it comes time to tune it https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yeju3pbopMg i'd love to have to have mint this low but is probably not livable. I do like the quad exhaust tip though so after a few drinks I dragged my arc welder out and started. It looks ok considering the tools and level of caring I had
AllTorque
Re starter issues. Old chev starters are known for sticky solenoids when they get old and hot. Do yourself a favour and get one of those high torque mini starters and never look back.
chris r
Its got a replacement gear reduction on it at the moment. The lack of heatshield and oil leaks will not be helping it at all
chris r
Correction not a gear reduction but a new style starter.

cletus
What a lovely truck. My favorite shape of the big chebby pickups
chris r
Mine too funnily enough. I'l like a fleet side apache one day too. AS you can see in the pics the steering wheel is pretty cracked. I thought maybe I could get a clear epoxy or something to fill in the cracks and still look cool/broken. Does anyone have suggestions on a suitable product? I've had a look at some on the tard but they want molds and i'm not skilled/patient enough for that
Threeonthetree
Aftermarket wheel? Or get Chucks/AFWE/CFR to ship over a secondhand replacement.
