bobdylan
I am currently running a blacktop Flywheel as its much lighter then the stock silvertop one. However i have been offered a lighter one from a reputable Japanese firm (5kg vs 5.9kg). What would the pros and cons be of going to the even lighter one over the stock 7.9kg silvertop one? hillman1
No point puting lightened flywheel on if you plan on turboing
Spencer
By offered do you mean you googled it and now want it? if its free take it, that's a no-brainer.
bobdylan
By offered i mean someone is selling it for $240 and i was considering buying it. Nah turbo will cost too much and i would need a lot of help i don't have access too.
flyingbrick
For 240$ you could buy two of those electric superchargers. Way easier to install for similar gains.
Bling
Couldn't get across what I was trying to say lol. But yeah, i'd probably not bother personally for that weight difference, given the cost of flywheel and fun of fitting it. Might even need skimming too which is another cost. Then if you're wanting to do it right, a new clutch. But that may already be on the cards, only you will know that though.
Ridal
Going from 10kg to 4.8kg flywheel was one of the better mods I did. Much more willing/responsive when shifting. No negative effects in my application.
BlownCorona
the lightend flywheel in my charade makes it a very responsive car even for a turbo, but going from 5.9 to 5 is a bit pointless. just save the 240 bucks and put it towards something else
