kicker
It's specific to the GS but looks like it's only the mounting of the unit that is specific i.e. the plate and trigger need to fit where the old points used to be, I have heard of people fitting these to other bikes which don't have their own version. It's a 3 wire install on mine, one to each coil and the last goes to a switched 12V supply
anglia4
I've been doing a bit of reading and it looks like a few people have adapted the dyna2000 from a cb750 to a 650. Requires a lot of work though. Does it make quite an improvement over standard?
kicker
It's so much easier to deal with, my points were all up the shit though and adjusting them accurately was nearly impossible. It's just an install and forget thing, definitely starts and idles better
anglia4
Cool. My cb already has electronic ignition but the crank trigger is a bit fucked I think and you can't get new ones

Goat
^This. Â We should make a pact to have bikes done by a certain date. Â Could even make it high stakes. Must be wofed and reged by certain date or the "incompletee" owes the "Completee" a dime city voucher or some such. Â /whydoweneedexternalmotivation. kicker
So not really an update but I sold this a wee while ago, I got it ready to re-vin but knew I wouldn't ride it much, I used to be all about the litre+ naked bikes but now I am returning to smokier pastures...
