What happened to the Duratec you wanted priced up?

Your best bet is Zetec or XE due to availability of parts for whatever spec desired. We built a SBD Kit XE for a MK2 Targa car over 6years ago and it still goes strong.

Were you gonna run carbs or ITB?

I think both motors are some what similar re FE-DOHC Vs Duratec/Zetec for pros and cons.

Zetec would be good for being able to get everything and anything at a price, also well documented. Making a T9 fit is good for future fancy gearbox upgrades.

FE3's are easy to get a hold of and good motors so long as you are willing to fabricate a bit of your own stuff up which is all fairly easy. Only thing I guess is getting RWD gearbox settup can be a bit of a menace but doable. 200hp from a turbo FE-DOHC is no worries. I'm sure you have seen the article making comparison to the SR20

Hate to suggest it but seeing as you are after 200hp would popping a nice little Miata BPt in there be a good option? Get a front cut or a de reg one and you should in theory have most the parts you require? RWD already and have aftermarket parts available.

If you go Fe3n it would pay to look around to try find the type with the better cams and hi comp pistons.

I had a 4wd capella wagon that used for a conversion into a mazda bongo. I was surprised how well the capella went for a heavy wagon.

Good music dude! Hahaha

Yeah the FE is just so appealing to me compared to to the Zetec......
