Gaz
Wanting to get some rims made end of the year. Talking to tyre shops today it would seem there is little to no option for tyres to fit a wide 14". Anyone got photos of 14x9-10's with tyres on (need to know the tyre size and brand). Im not really into the ballon stretch look but want a good fitting low pro ideally. Gaz

Gaz
I dont think a 225/40 would be legal on a 9.5inch rim would it?
Gaz
Looking here it wouldnt be legal.... but then there are feck all options, is this enforced? Can you cert out of it? http://a.imageshack.us/img245/5317/8910028.jpg Gaz
Truenotch
The toyo website says they're legal for up to 9" rims. http://toyo.co.nz/tyre_detail.php?T_name=Proxes%20T1R Here's simon's on a 9.5:
kpr
your right isnt much around 195/45 pretty tiny diameter wise, not too hard to get in a few brands 225/40 toyo = indent you'l be waiting forever 195/55 toyo = as above 185/55 stretch lots. easy to get other than that your basically stuck with balloons. from what ive heard you'l get away with mild stretch, depending on your cert guy /wof man. considered getting narrower rims with lower offset? ie same size outers, but narrower inner shells. will look basically the same but less stretch. Yeah but nah The above looks perfect for what im after. There is a shipment coming in on thr Toyos in May according to Tony Tires today. Q. Whats the chances of the 225 being discontinued? kpr
hmm guess depends if your just rolling around on them, or burning through a few of them... wouldn't rely on the 225's being around for ever, esp only 1 brand doing them. 185/55 hankook on a 8.5" 195/55 toyo on 8.0" 185/55 re001 on 8.0" have some with supercats on also if your keen for balloons haha

danger
Theres always the option of eagers.. Can put writing on the inside and they wont balloon much on a 9inch rim...
spiderwebfx
Hey don't know it if it of any use, but you can still get some 245/50R14's. There is a tyre supplier (BG World Wheels) that brings in the Bridgestone Eagers, BF Goodrich Radial T/A's etc. Expensive but possibility There is also a few suppliers that do a 205/55R14. Nitto NT01 being one option.
kpr
245/50 is pretty massive balloon spec. 205/55 is getting pretty tall as well, but probably useable on bigger cars
Gaz
That looks like another good site, will check it out. Not too keen on Eagers.. have driven on eagers a few times and i the wet they are dodgy as fuck. Gaz
