Aaron
Flares are like $150 on TM + dont have the tools to do it at home.
Kevo
get some larger offset rims, or some much narrower tyres to clear the arches

Aaron
Ok, I have swapped the back tyres over to the front, seems to be working for now.
jtkp61
i dont reckon you should lower it,i think manual conversion / engine conversion, may be better shocks, but keep it stock...ish looking too many starlets are dumped, Thank you for your words of wisdom. I wasn't too keen on lowering it cause it seems quite cliche to do so. I will definitely need either new shocks/springs/tyres, because whenever I go over bumps in the road, the tyres scrape. Thoughts on any particular engine for the car? Cheers.
jtkp61
Hey man, nice car! Iv got one similar, I am lowering it on Cobra Superlows - got the ke70 shocks in the rear but looking for shorter inserts for the front, do you know what works? Thanks

Sambo
You'll be hearing that ticking noise again very soon! I used to have to replace that gasket roughly every 3 months on my KE70. Take the manifold off, take it to a engine builders, have them machine the face flat and use double gaskets when putting it back on it'll be good as gold. Or don't even use double gaskets. Or buy an aftermarket manifold.

Thanks I have Mk1 Golf inserts in my shortened struts. RE: gasket, do what Sambo says EXCEPT take both the inlet and exhaust manifolds in and get them machined straight and to the same thickness. Kevo
Before you go cut your springs, I have 2 rears already cut that I wont be using. They may be a bit low but you can have them for free.

kpr
pretty sure i still have some cut springs in my barrel of springs. they are from the front some fwd thing, nissan sunny maybe? anyway, they are harder than factory springs. also free, but... in whangarei /go to pick a part with a tape measure and find some harder springs that fit. then chop to length edit: they are a pair for the rear.
