M_C
Please buy a Sierra wagon and transplant Cossie running gear into it. Its something Id love to do but no monies. An example of great ideas leaking into many peoples consciousness at the same time... I have a friend who has a Sierra wagon that used to have a YB turbo in it. Again dollars to put one back in was higher than benefit ratio so it currently as a 1UZ filling the hole. But he is tempted to put v6 in yoeddynz style and has been internet stalking your build. This post may even tempt him to reply, or shock horror, do some work on the car...
yoeddynz
Get him to start a thread!!! I like the Aerotina wagons and have always fancied one souped up to the right degree with a cossie front end in place. The cossie front end looks so choice. Valiant
I did a Cortina to w50 years ago. It ended up with a Cortina release bearing and cover with a Corona? clutch disc. I took it all along to BnT and went through their Toyota clutch plates until I found one the right spline and diameter.

Kiwibirdman
For the cam timing, the method of both valves open the same amount on TDC is the tried and true way of doing cams of unknown origin. It should be close enough to get you running, you can always play round with the cam timing once it is going. Pretty easy to do on a Pinto and no chance of bouncing valves off pistons.

I put this up in the tech talk as well and kpr suggested slightly more lift on the inlet at TDC. 3.86mm inlet lift is 3.45 exhaust lift and 103 degrees advanced. This is pretty close to same lift which is 105 degrees. The head has been shaved a small amount and there is more lift than standard so possibly interference now. I don’t want to find out the hard way...
Nominal
Had to walk back through the thread to see the last time it was running - 2013? No wonder you had a big smile when it started up - well done. Classy return spring setup too
M_C
After blowing the old V6 up at Hampton ~2013 I did get distracted when shopping for an engine and buying a nice turboed one that came in a car -the Geisha. And then numerous other escorts, and a 2 year sabbatical on a boat with the family, and move to new town etc etc etc... Yeah, its been far too long. Scary how young the kids look, even just at the top of the current page! Let put it this way the kids were 7 and 5 the last time I drove her and this month I bought the kids their own race car. If they bin the Puglet I will be sad, but no where near as sad as if they bin Felicity the escort. And for a front tugger its so much fun to drive. (Return spring is on the long list )
yoeddynz
So cool hearing a new engine start up. I laughed when I read "had dissy 180 degrees out" as I too have done that a few times and never learn
