mikuni
From my Vectra build thread - these are from the front of an EF I think, but the rear are quite similar They came compressed in the shocks, which introduces a small issue that anyone who has undone coil over shocks before will understand. Now getting the springs out can be quite dangerous, so it is very important to use the correct tool for the job. Once I had the shocks secure in my custom press, I loosened the top bolt and out the springs came. All limbs intact. I couldn't get the hooks of the compressors between the spring coils and even if you could, they would sit to close to everything anyway. Not to mention that the radius of the springs is much tighter than normal compressors also. Ones like this would probably be ok But these ones yeah/nah
xsspeed
Why? Diameter of springs too small to fit inside the 'perches' of the compressors?
Toucan
Yea, those cast silver ones are horrible on honda stuff. I just sat on the tophat an loosened nut with impact gun. Lifts you up a bit/got a hole in my favourite shorts, but so beats fiddly spring compressors.

DB8-TypeR
Honestly if you have such short springs in there you can just whip the tophats right off. Of course undo the nut slowly but the springs should become uncaptive before the nut comes off. Unless of course your shocks have been shortened
chees-
i believe my shocks have cause i pulled them off and compared to the originals they're tiny, no way i can use the original shocks with these springs, will take photos tomorow
DB8-TypeR
Ahh yep I thought they would be, as there is no way it could possibly be that low with stock shocks and just lowering springs

xsspeed
Like I said on wednesday, grab that part number off the kings and it should be able to tell you a bit about it, including what vehicle its from - might give you a clue what the shocks are

chees-
yep they are, so how do i know which ends progressive? bottom end tapers in so i assume that end?
xsspeed
pretty sure its the end with more/tighter coils BUT WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO CONFIRM THAT PLZ
xsspeed
If you could get them out of the shock, it'd be the end thats easier to squish by hand, so if one was to go as far as cutting, they would want to cut the stiff end
