Snoozin
I have a car lot of nuts, bolts, screws, clips, catches and got knows what else I want gold zinc plated, as per factory. Auckland based. Any recommendations? Sheepers already recommended a place that was apparently awesome but they went into liquidation. Absolute cheapness is not a necessity. slacker.cam
I asked the dude with the N2 AE86 replica where he got his done. He got it done at Forlong and Maisey in Hamilton. The other suggestion was Rigg Electroplating on the Shore. Here is where i asked: http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/ae86/t/6171/postdays=0/postorder=asc/start=

xsspeed
Eden Electroplaters on Khyber Pass do good work but are pricey, my folks have used them to do the brass window latch thingies previously - pretty good job. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=20345&p=465855&hilit=electroplaters#p465855
Taistorm
Tony Lynch up in dairyflat can do it. Not too sure what his pricing is like ay but he does a good job. 021971612. He just got hit with pneumonia though so would have to wait a week or so for him to recover. Bloody gc.

slacker.cam
What prep work needs to be done to your fasteners before dropping them off at one of these big commercial electroplaters? Can you just throw all your old rusty, greasy, covered in paint and silicone seatant bolts into a box and take them there? Or do you need to clean and wire wheel all of the old plating off first? Snoozin
Rigg said to me I can just bring them the dirty fasteners and they'd take care of em... this is the option I prefer, as they'll clean them to how they want them which I would hope will achieve a better result or more consistent result. Platemasters said they'd prefer them to be free of paint and grease. Old plating seems to be ok?
slacker.cam
I would happily pay twice as much if it meant I didn't have to go near a wire wheel/chemical bath.
Poo
Old plating seems to be ok? Old plating will be fine.
mikuni
The dude (Steve) in the thread Cam posted had all of this done for $120. Seems like good value to me. It was 2 years ago now, so pricing may have changed possibly.
