SP450andLE
My Lada officially hates me. I thought I was able to just bolt all the aircleaner etc back on (after I tune it) and get the brakes done. But no. It has decided to leak fuel from the carb. It leaks from here somewhere: Why is it doing this? Can someone help/come around here and fix it/buy this thing for several thousand so I can get a better one? Valiant
is that the accelerator pump? im pretty sure there's usually a seal involved? smarter people will be along shortly.. You're all over it Fliboi. Its the accelerator pump, there is a diaphram behind that cover. Undo the 4 screws take the diaphram out, watch out there will be a small spring behind it. You should be able to get a diaphram from a carburettor repair shop or off a spare carb.
SP450andLE
Ahh, the accelerator is on the opposite side of the carb, so does that change anything?

SP450andLE
You've lost me. The cable is on the opposite side of the carb (around the corner of the carb on the RHS of the picture). Sorry for the stupid questions/comments, I hate carbs
Valiant
All good. That is the accelerator pump. Carefully undo the 4 screws and replace that diaphram.
SP450andLE
What bit is the diaphragm?
tortron
the black bit behind that thing with the 4 screws on it.
Valiant
It looks like a little black gasket the same size as the cover with a liittle steel cup on it. Edit: what Tortron said.
SP450andLE
Hmm ok. I'll investigate that when I can

Haha, well i essentially learnt everything i know about carbs from that night we ripped mine apart 100 times. and yea, this will be a simple fix, just follow these guys instructions. the accelerator pump wont have a cable hooked to it, it should act off the butterfly shaft or maybe the throttle wheel (i guess potentially from the throttle cable) and squirts fuel directly into the throat when you stab the accelerator. SP450andLE
Ok, so I got the thing off. And the diaphragm is split several times over. So where would be the easiest place to buy a replacement from?
KKtrips
You'll need to buy an entire carb kit and get a full set of gaskets.
