Archetype
I'm sick of trying to hunt down obscure nuts, bolts, screws, etc from places like Supercrap and Ripco, and engineering places like Fortress and BNT. Are there any decent places that specialise in automotive stuff? It seems logical to me to have a detailed website of sizes, styles and all sorts of variations with part numbers, instead of having to search through aisles of hardware, only to find nothing is suitable. I need nice looking interior screws, headlight cover screws, inner guard bolts, bumper bolts, and suspension bolts (sorted that one today, thankfully). Where do car builders and hot rodders go for this sort of stuff?
KKtrips
http://www.coastalfasteners.co.nz/ http://www.blacksfasteners.co.nz/ http://www.edlfast.co.nz/ I have personally dealt with coastal a whole heap and they rule!! you can also buy assortment packs which are much more specialist automotive (from Champion I think) edit - http://www.championnz.co.nz/index.asp

mikuni
I just go to hardie fastners in Frankton. I think H8V8S was working there for a little bit, so he could probably help more with relevance. During my engine conversion, refurbing wheels with cap s/s cap screws and other automotive related things they have always had what I needed. Its just a small shop but they still manage to offer a better price than I could get at trade through EDL, the rip off cunts.
Ranter
Yep EDL are expensive, I use Wurth for proper 10mm 12mm 14mm nuts for Jap cars, cos I get easily pissed when every nut or bolt is a different size during a job. Blacks for anything else.
fuel
haha yeah quite annoying when you come across a 1/2" nut on a jap car at pick a part and you've only brought in 10, 12 and 14mm spanners
Bombsquad
I just go to hardie fastners in Frankton. Good company though they have a sweet range and can get what you need, try to deal with Claude if you can (hes only there sometimes though) if he cant get it then it doesnt exist. Also if you have any questions regarding obscure stuff hit me up, i now have the useless talant of being able to ID threads/bolts by eye lol Also EDL suck cock, Fraser knows his stuff but the rest of them are monkeys
