Anpanman
Please discuss, help me with some of the options I am pondering. Project thread here: http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3937
Sparkle
Stay with 15s bro. Looked sharp. Stay with same widths too!
Anpanman
Yeah, I quite like it like that - although looking like that, it got pink stickered once and threatened with a pink sticker once (both times when my wife was driving it - I have never been pulled over in it ) . I also really like the look of 14's on them too hence my conundrum.
Threeonthetree
That two tone paint job looks wicked. I'd stick with it.
Anpanman
Yeah I definitely like the two-tone. I am pretty poor, so it is going to come down to cost unfortunately at this stage. What do people think about wheels for this?
Red sunday
Yeah, perfect the way it is!
lowlancer
15s do look good. Depends on type of use. Daily? 15s. Weekend car? 14s 14s will always look better due to potentiality of lowness. Just hinges on your ability to procure decent tyres.

Yeah I agree... worried about finding tyres for 14s... it should be a weekend car, but you never know. Elite wheels website says they make 13" and 15" steels, so that might rule out the 14" option if I go that way anyway. I could always do cheap elite 15s until something decent comes up in 14"
Flauski
Bro, stick with two tone, it rules my face. There are some Sport Max 002, mini light style wheels in 15x8 0 offset that can be brought new: Few ppl on here have them and they look tight. And I can hook you a good price on tyres still from M&T Kane still has/loves your wheels, he got them on a Coupe Cressida 2J project
BobbyBreeze
You're in Japan now, this is where all the awesome 14" tyres live. Find some old Dunlop racing tyres, then bring them here for you and I? Sportmaxx are yuck, make the car look cheap. 14s
cheater_5
Sportmaxx is the worst thing that could happen to this car 14s
BobbyBreeze
Sportmaxx is GRIS GAIN
Flauski
Lock Dogg is having trouble finding decent offset wheels. Sportmax are the only available new x8 0 offset wheels available in NZ (other than Simmons) Didnt say they were the best option, they are the ONLY NZ new option
lowlancer
There's nothing wrong with Sportmaxxs aside from the fact they're not made in japan I suspect Plenty of examples where they've been used well. I feel they would not suit this vehicle though
Anpanman
Yeah they can look real good on some cars, but I agree probably not this one so much, at the moment there are no decent reasonably priced 14s on yahoo really, so I will probably get some custom made 15s until something decent comes up - unless of course something awesome comes through on Yahoo auctions in the next few weeks. crustywhip
You better not come back empty handed. As Flauski said Im still taking good care of your old rims. They came off the mark2 and onto my new 120y wagon. Do a skid
Anpanman
yeah wish I had more money! Didn't know you were on here you sly bastard Post some pics/project thread then. lowlancer
Custom steels never look that shit hot, centre-wise anyway. Maybe opting for an existing centre from another steel, but that won't suit
