  1. The only issue I can see is if there are structural repairs required in multiple areas you risk the vehicle being marked as imported as a damaged vehicle. The same possibly goes for previous repairs too. If I was you I would start feeling out a compliance place in NZ before doing any work in OZ to see what they think, because it will basically come down to their discretion (unless flagged for multiple issues at the NZTA border inspection) and I am sure the right person would be able to give you some guidance.
  2. agreed Don't paint anything else green, just the wheels were great. More low and an extravagant exhaust will be great
  3. I had a look on the Japanese websites for the following companies: Dunlop Bridgestone Yokohama Toyo Kumho Pirelli Michelin Hankook Nitto But none of them listed that tyre size...
  4. I had a look on yahoo and a couple of other websites but couldn't find any listings for that size. I could ask at a tyre place sometime soonish if you want.
  5. I would be there with mo'fuggin bells on 'cept I am currently Hemispherically challanged. Oh well. next time I guess.
  6. damn. I always mean to come along but always remember in about the second week of the month.
  7. Like those wheels a lot. was checking out the same ones on trademe just a few days ago. Pretty good progress here I think.
  8. no work ftw/l Sweet see you around that time then.
  9. nasty 48hr stomach bug wrecked my plans to attend... oh well next month...
  10. thought you might enjoy this video. have been following this build up for a long time now, and have enjoyed seeing the progress and it is cool that is getting close to completion. hopefully you will have lots of videos to post of it in action after that. cheers.
  11. yeah wish I had more money! Didn't know you were on here you sly bastard Post some pics/project thread then. Will be bringing stuff back, just not sure how much stuff......
  12. Yeah they can look real good on some cars, but I agree probably not this one so much, at the moment there are no decent reasonably priced 14s on yahoo really, so I will probably get some custom made 15s until something decent comes up - unless of course something awesome comes through on Yahoo auctions in the next few weeks.
  13. Yeah I agree... worried about finding tyres for 14s... it should be a weekend car, but you never know. Elite wheels website says they make 13" and 15" steels, so that might rule out the 14" option if I go that way anyway. I could always do cheap elite 15s until something decent comes up in 14"
  14. Yeah I definitely like the two-tone. I am pretty poor, so it is going to come down to cost unfortunately at this stage. What do people think about wheels for this?
  15. Yeah, I quite like it like that - although looking like that, it got pink stickered once and threatened with a pink sticker once (both times when my wife was driving it - I have never been pulled over in it ) . I also really like the look of 14's on them too hence my conundrum.
  16. 4 year Bump! Damn those wheels were mint... there is a MX73 (?) Cressida rolling around in Wellington with them on now as I sold them a couple of years back. They look hot on that car too. As for my mark II it is not in such healthy condition at the moment, it is in storage and when I get back from Japan it should be going in for some panel/paint work all going well. She has just ticked over 100,000 kms too. I am coming back to NZ in a month and I have finished my exams, therefore I am starting to organise things for the Mark II - trying to decide if I should buy wheels here or do something else. Yahoo Japan has pretty slim pickings for rims at the moment, either crap width/offset or ridiculously overpriced/bidding war goes crazy. So I am contemplating getting some wheels made like lofreq did. I am thinking SSR Mark I -esque solid flat centre... thoughts? I guess in this case it would be kind of tough looking as opposed to shiny rims... any other ideas for rims guys? Are there any new school old school looking wheels that come in decent width 14's? Also as above the car is wearing 15x8 0 offset front with 185/55/15 and 15x9 rear with 195/60/15 (IIRC), but I am quite keen to go with 14's this time although I worry about finding tyres that aren't balloons... has anyone had any luck finding decent 14" tyres? ANy tyre peeps have any suggestions? Also thinking about colour for paint? Stick with two tone? (which I love) or single colour? Comments here are appreciated: discuss.....viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20821
  17. Please discuss, help me with some of the options I am pondering. Project thread here: http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3937
  18. おつかれ~! I shall attend the January meet, as I will be BACK IN NZ/PALMY. (as long as I am not working in another part of nz).
  19. good price for those wheels, wonder how much they will go up in the next 4 days though, they are a good size and a wicked offset so should be popular. オフセットが普通ではないのでご注意ください。
  20. 9J minus 25???? 8J minus 12 on front??? very cool, but are you getting some bolt on fenders with those as well?
  21. Sorry to hear that man. Could be a chance for some interesting bits? Hope it works out well - let me know if I can help out with any bits.
  22. hey my 1geu sat for a year without even moving, I charged up the battery put it in and it started with less than half a crank. pity it only has a bout 0.5kw at the flywheel.
  23. fuck that sucks dude, hope you get a mean payout and can find something awesome. /serious [jokes]Perhaps a starion with those huge front and rear bumpers or something, tie some tyres to the front and back and paint it hi-vis yellow. Actually you could mount some of those heinous bling rims to the front and back and no one could possibly not see you. [/jokes]
  24. Hey brother, Your car is very cool. I can't wait to check it out in the 'flesh' I am going to source you a C110 radio control car like I have for Kyteler. Have you got your mind set on white, or is colour also still under consideration? Whatever engine you end up doing it is gonna be awesome.
