  1. i logged in just to harass you. so god damn jealous. i hate you infinitely etc. aaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh well done man. car is fuckin beautiful and is only rapidly increasing in value every minute. so uhh... where do you live again? ......
  2. Mr Millen was a gentleman, taking the time out to talk to us and to let us drive on his property. what an honour to be there without the huge crowds of leadfoot - it was so peaceful! stunning place.
  3. does this work? or do you need to be friends to view this? http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151322763388755.531686.656793754&type=1&l=d2d05c1048 if it doesnt work let me know now, ill have to manually do it.
  4. couple of my panoramas from the afternoon couple more shots on FB, can link here if anyone interested
  5. gx61, boso, dubstep, stickerbombs. angus eye fillet, whiskey, peanut butter, deep fried watermelon. good luck :/
  6. had to slam out the front suspension for the show - springs werent seated right as well, and car was on a lean! lol its bumped in the show on the front, hence needing shorter struts/coilover solution. rear is all good. height on front goes up about 3/4" with springs back in. edit: will definitely hit up CSL/Autoquip for their thoughts on upgraded carbs... my initial thought was to run quad bike carbs but there seems to be split schools of thought on this, on the intarwebs..... id prefer to run 4 carbs and 4 trumpets off a big bike just for the sound and look!
  7. i hear you, i was sceptical too after seeing them on for the first time. but with a bit of cleanup on them, right sized tires, and height, it worked out really well, im very happy. for the short term, just roll it thru summer and enjoy. its such a pleasure to drive... medium term, custom shocks and coilover conversion, front brake upgrade, chin spoiler if one can be found (would love the one off my markII back) long term, dual webers or similar carb upgrade, and rust spot fix/respray and then, electric motor and battery upgrade, followed by hoverconversion
  8. thanks dude, it was there over the new years period getting the rear fenders worked on updated build thread with new pics from 4&Rotor nats CJC stand!
  9. so heres 2012! whats been happening? well i was away on holiday till about 20th Jan, and the car was due at 4&R on 27th for setup day, so not much time at all to sort shit. Grant @ GT Refinishers did an amazing job on the rear flares, and paint - even had to mix in a bunch of crappy old thinners to dull down the paint so it matched the aged original finish. to the eye i dont think you can tell. but the 7"s were still too wide - however thanks to 4AG_Addict here, he had a pair of exactly the same 14x6.5 +4 Equip Competitions that i needed. soon they were on their way up to aucks for me to swap tires onto and trial fit. here they are swapped round, with the tires now replaced with 155/65/14s lol. overall result - IT WORKED - only slight scrapes on the rear left on full bump, no scrapes on front. stoked. a ton more work in cleaning/polishing the wheels, and detailing the car for the show ensued. so finally, show day: i couldnt be prouder of how she looked. spent hours on set up day tech-waxing the stock paint, and autosol'ing all the chrome, also had to work on the Chaser which was also entered on the CJC stand, exhausted but happy with how it turned out. now for a much needed break! next on the agenda, some kind of custom coilover setup, its time for the stock shocks and springs to go. also, potential front brake upgrade. but for now, its summer, time to cruise this thing and enjoy
  10. id be keen for this, are yours exactly the same type of equips? 14x6.5 +4 , 4x114.3 ? reasonable cond? and dave123134i2u4234-9234 i know what you mean about looking weird, its on my mind as well. ill see what happens when they are fitted correctly, and polished up. if im not convinced ill change it up again, but ill see how i feel when its all together.
  11. rims are on, and yeah, bit of a lol problem. will try my best to make it work before i give up tho! anyone got some 155/55/14s lol and, anyone want some 13x7 4x100 widened rostyle's?
  12. updates before xmas. redrillage has occurred. Carlos (steel surgeon) is a majestro. ovaled out and redrilled front hub studs, repressed them back into the hub carriers - rear drums machined and redrilled. bam. 185/55/14s chucked onto the equips. test fit on hoist. problems now clear: so i have about 1" problem all round. this is the 7"s on the back, 6.5"s on front rear situation: went to see Grant at GT Refinishers about this... he reckons we might be able to get 25mm on the rear from a flare/pull. if i swap the 6.5 to the rear and use a smaller tire, it might work. front situation: front is a bit more doable, the whole fender is empty steel underneath, so it will pull heaps. hence the possiblity of 7" on front. VISUALLY they look almost the same, but we will see when its on if it works or not. 155/55/14 would be ideal but waiting for some to arrive would obviously push the date out quite a bit, and im trying to get this in with the CJC vintage collection for the nationals end of jan. i found some 155/65/14s in auckland and im gona bite the bullet and try em and hope they arent too tall to not work also. i know they fit as i have already test fit them to the 7s. so shes currently on some borrowed typeR wheels for now to get her mobile while i sort this shit out. i leave on holiday soon and wont be around so plan is to leave the car at Grants to get the work done early Jan, then come back and finish detailing it before the show. if grant cant get it to work however, then ill miss the deadline i guess. or have to put it in the show and then swap wheels over and pretend it worked. lol. anyway, we'll see. im trying my hardest to make this shit happen.
  13. heres whats happened to it. try this link for all the pics: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 73490b4180 what a goddamn shame. i assume front rails might be tweaked from the frontal crash, if the bumper isnt even on there, (and you know how solid they are) id assume the rails are tweaked... from the photo of the smashed rim youd assume possibly damaged rear arms... then the paper mache fenders, the fibreglass over the vinyl, and matt black spray... motor probably wasted... the only good thing left might be the interior which was stunning. WAS, of course. anyway, motherfucker man.
