tregath
So i managed to scam today off work so thought id have a go at getting the front guards off. To do this, i need to get the doors off. which are not bolt on Does any one have any tips for getting the door pins out without using the grinder and hating myself afterwards? this is the beast here, will do a better write up later when i have progress
QCADTA
lots of crc and a roll pin remover, or a oxy/acet. torch and apply heat and punch out. or thin hacksaw blade and cut out. usually a painful proccess. getin the guards off isnt much more fun with out ruinin your front panel, drip rail etc.

QCADTA
theyre not exspensive, was less than $40 off the top of my head. vauxhall astra mk 3 pins are a good replacement, but i used m8 bolts with a nyloc nut, easier to get off in the future. Hemi
if you cant get heat onto it another way is to put somthing solid behind the hinge and the smash the opposite side with a hammer , it distorts the hole adn will somtimes help to break up the corrsion , similar to the way you get a tierod out
Chrome_GT
Sykes Pickervant make the tool also. Or at made one. It's been a while (8 yrs) since i did myne, i borrowed the sykes tool of a workmate. If i remember right it has to be done in this unusual way because of the way the door is shaped. Maybe someone can confirm this I reckon you could make a tool easy as. A Buy a long bolt, Turn the head down so it will slide down hinge bore but is still bigger than the roll pin ID. poke through the roll pin inside the hinge, thread a nut on the other end. Then use a fork of some sort to belt down on the nut. If i remember right it has to be done in this way because of the way the door is shaped. Maybe someone can confirm this. May be more like this B Buy a long bolt and nut, Turn the nut down so it will slide down hinge bore but is still bigger than the roll pin ID. poke upwards through the roll pin inside the hinge, thread a modified nut on the other end above the roll pin. Then use a fork of some sort to belt down on the bolt head.
Chrome_GT
Replacement roll pins were available at EDL fasteners in Chch based on dimensions. Blacks can probably do them too. Nothing special
tregath
Yea i havnt had any luck. I have asked the local tool shops to source the one from ampro but cannot source one. mkcortina
have managed to get any pins out? i could only get the top 1's out. i then had to move the door up and down till the pins snapped. i think the hinges are bent thats why they are hard to get out. once i snapped the pins both half's came out really easy. also you can get the remover from sulco http://www.sulco.co.nz/Product?Action=View&Product_id=
