R32 skyline oil issue

a friend has a manual-ised (By kk-k in fact) R32 GTS25 and the oil level is fine but the oil pressure gauge is always showing a low reading, and has done for years (haha!). has always run sweet as but shes getting sick of ignoring the gauge!

no obvious low oil pressure symptoms that i can identify, anyone have any advice/experience?

Install (temporarily) another gauge to check actual reading.Compare. More than likely effed sender or cluster though. My diesel Hilux showed eff all pressure on dash but a healthy 50psi on another gauge...issue solved by a second hand sender

Slightly OT, but as my engine is getting more miles on it, properly run it etc, the oil pressure is higher than when i first started it. Is that the trend they take?

not normally - normally you loose oil pressure as shit wears and tolerences open up.. Maybe its just cos you got your foot hard up it all the time and the idle may be higher or some shit...

i have a differnt view , i have the same on most engine i rebuild for some strange reason , the pressure is like 1/4 the gauge when the truck comes in for next service *15,000ks) , THE gauge reads just below half while driving

also in kk-ks exmaple it could also be the fact the the oil gets through everything quicker without squeezing out of everything then hitting the oil filter/ pressure manifold and backs up?? , the mind boggles

*that explanation above only works if the oil is filtered and measured AFTER it goes through the block ( like alot of trucks seem to have)

oil pressure is half on the factory escort 6 dial gauge on my pinto turbo than it wos on my crossflow, only thing that make me sleep at night it that its readinf is from the turbo oil feed line and there fore is reading low...........

but yea test oil pressure with a good mechincal gauge. and if its mint leave it be. my old primera usd to read real low on factory gauge at idol then went up to 4 bar reving. . . .
