thegreatestben
you can put a bit of oil down the bores. Let it sit in there and run through for a while. Gently crank over by hand.

Gaz
Umm, would any water be down the bores somewhow? Moisture? If it has rusted enough to seize it then I would rip head off and have a look, turning it over with rust might scratch up the bores alot more than ripping the pistons out. QCADTA
Doesnt sound to good. Try filling it with diesel and let it soak for a bit. Was told this is a good way to store engines as well.
peteretep
if my motor has been sitting for a year with oil in it, and it still turns over freely(gets harder on compression as expected), is it ok?
cute wee gem
Yep, throw some oil in the spark plug 'oles when you turn it over. just keeps it from corroding.

d.p.n.s
hay man doesnt sound to good i had a 2lt ford motor that was stuck soild took the head and all the pistons were down abit (none at TDC) and my old man told me to fill the bores from the pistons up with coke and leave it till its all gone get a big bar on the crank and turn it over and that worked. so if all esle fails try coke dan

sholdowa
How do you apply said coke to the clutch? take starter out? Chuck it through the hole in the bellhousing where the release arm comes out. Works on escorts...
