r1 carbs

so ive now got these carbs, anyone got a good manual that goes into detail about these carbs? Ive found bike manuals on the net but they dont tell you what everything does... i really just want to know the function of each inlet/outlet

Also what is the best way to mount them?

Whats the deal with vacuum? can you use it from the carbs themselves or no? ive heard that you only need one inlet to give enough vacuum for the brakes but do they have enough/does it work for vacuum advance on the distributor?

What kind of pressure do they require? can I use the old escort fuel pump?

pics, poor quality

back in the day vac advance was made as an economy thing, I'vce read. I don't know shit about ignition timing curves and shit though. should be sweet to run without it, esp if you get the dizz weights and all that sorted.

will likely have to run a check valve and vaccum tank to run the brakes, and jsut run it off one

all covered boes. mean link on about page 3 to a total vauxhall write up talking about them.

they mount just on the intake runner tubes, no mounting points. just make a flange up for your intake and run appropriate sized tube with rubber/silicone tubes in between with hose clamps or similar to fix them in place.

Perhaps you could try dropping into your local Suzuki bike dealer/workshop and ask them for some info.

yeah cos sukuki sells heaps of r1's  .....anyway they all fuel injected now and bike shops are gay to talk to, usually arnt keen to help unless you want to give them heaps of cash.

maybe just run locked advance and put up with gayness downlow in the revs.

$150 for an r1 pump sounds expensive, anyone?

if thats brand new retail then i could probably get it a bit cheaper...also i think those carter pumps run at like 3-4psi but i might be wrong
