hey i'm looking at buying a 79 datsun 120y wagon, with the might a12 engine lol

i'm planing for this to be my weekend cruiser/project car, since the my mr2 isn't exactly practical for taking mates out cruising lol

what i'm really wanting to know, is what can be done to improve performance just a tad?

i could either do the a12 up a bit

find an a15 and do that up...

ca18det...lotsa work tho and i wanna keep it simple

fj20?

i'd really like to keep it carby, but i wouldnt mind something about 2l just for the xtra tourque for carrying a car full of fellaz ;)

so what u guys sugest?

yea if your not looking at nuts power i.e tubo efi etc then a worked a15 would be awesome :D

cam and head work with a nice set of twin sidedrafts like the pic caboon posted, extractors maybe a lightened flywheel?and a 5 speed box

will be heaps of fun and bolt straight in, no extra wiring or anything

mate had this setup in his 1200 coupe and that thing used to fly 8)

Worked A15, would be the easiest.

Mate has one in his 1200 Ute, makes it almost as fast as my brother's 240Z.

You could L20B it, run sidies off that etc. More than enough torque in an L20B to cater for something like that.

least if mine rolls you just flip it back up the right way and off you go again... hahahah.

I recover cars from accidents, fuckall fare well against trucks, I assure you. As for your landcrab flipping and carrying on, the 120Y has as much chance of that happening too.
