shaved handles ftw etc... na saw some pics of a couple in japan

and thought it looked pretty badass haha. hopefully can get a wof without em otherwise i will have to have a wee cry and cut myself emo styz etc.

anyway suspension will have to take a back seat due to lack of fundage, but low... probably just lowered springs god knows where i will find those and perhaps bags when i am rich haha (about 200 years from now)

as for parts, windscreen wiper might come in handy... hmmm and a full set of carpet, and a new interior, you name it i need it but will probably just have to do the slow motion route until funds allow, most important thing at the mo is get it painted and back on the road.... too wet and cold for the mighty 2smoke at the moment.

oh and the plan is for super taxicab yellow (ok mainly coz i have the paint from a prior unfinished project haha) hope will look something like this

did u bog the door handle holes up? or is there a plate welded in there underneath that bog?

buhaha bogging holes without plates welded in FTL

That yellow one you posted looks mean. Doesnt quite look taxi yellow. :wink:

not plates not bog... ah the joy of fibreglass ftw haha no welding skills ftfl big time

na that photo just a gold one i fucked with the colour balance on just to get an idea if i was a moron or not with the colour haha.

hmmmm lateish model crown taxi for 4k sounds like ftw on a big scale to me! hmmmm where to find 40 x 4grand haha

will need those bits soon Cam, but yeah chuck some pics up when you know what ya got. def need a wiper arm... have to figure out whats the haps with carpet etc... maybe just find a pickapart special with reasonable flooring and rip it out haha rough as i know but im on the mad limited budget

fuck your doors warped? thats the sort of stuff thats making me a bit wary of trying to teach myself

did you put the fiberglass on the inside of the door or the outside?

is it very hard to do? i might do that to delete my key holes

i got all the 4 locks on my van welded up and 2 aeriel holes and rear wiper arm and window washer nozzle holes welded up for 40 bucks and there was no warping... i think the key is to weld in sections at a time and use a mig or tig

Looks like your going pretty hard on the crown man, but ive gotta warn you. fibreglassing/bogging rust like that will not solve the problem, it wont even slow it down, the water will just sit on the edge where the fibreglass meets the steel and eat away at it, making the hole bigger especially if the bog fills up all the drainage holes in the door.

I've done a shitload of welding all over the capri, shaving shit, rust etc, never had any problems with warpage. Started doing some rust work/ shaving etc on my mates starlet on saturday, chopped a heap of rust out and everything just fell apart, had to be so careful to avoid warpage, didnt end out running beads of weld, just tack after tack. i put it down to the cheap thin metal the jappas use, escorts/capri's definately have thicker steel with a higher carbon content. (pity they didnt design the drainage systems properly)

copy that, no fingers haha.. had mine removed in a freak basket weaving incedent anyway haha. na all good, go the block.

as for the glass and bog, seems to work ok rust wise if you prep everything well, i did it on the old pstar.. hole the size of mars and was all sweet, no rust came back. so fingers crossed will be sweet. but if someone wants to come weld it all up i would be more than ammenable to the help haha

um re door handle question, glass on the outside as it has a fairly deep indent where the handle normally sits etc.

Crown, Is the yellow you got for it just a base yellow or is it metalic or pearl or something thatll look special like that photochopped yellow.

No unfortunately the yellow is just a straight basic very bright but quite deep (if that makes any sense) colour, but i might try some gold metalic in the clearcoat or something... dunno if that works or not. either way the colour is really like a new york yellow cab sorta colour.. leaning more gold than white. confused yet? i am!

whatever, it is an ok colour, assuming i can get the prep done right it should look mean.
