sand blasting

Recommended Posts

me and my dad are working on our cars.

we have stripped out his, the 57 ford Anglia and mine is going for the same treatment later this arve. Instead of actually sanding it down we wanna get it sand blasted instead. well at least the inside, just to get into the hard to reach places etc.

is this a good plan?

and where do i go in auckland? price is important but workmanship has to be decent!

NO DONT sand blast if you ever want your car back sand blasting is too harsh for panel steel and will warp the panels there are other mediums like glass or plastic beads. ring around some of the resto places in the ph book and see who or what they use

mang

What are you? 50 Cent??

My mate got his Mini dipstripped for around $800. That is a mini though. And everything has to be gone. Afterwards it is dipped in a rust inhibitor so you have to wash it down before you paint. Probably just go with the blasting.

my dads anglia is getting sand blasted next week and mine the week after. he wont do the roof, boot or bonnet as it might warp. he's charging us 700 each and that includes a coat of primer but the stuff he's using is "crap" so ill supply some for him.

he specialises in cars and he hasnt had a problem so far so thats sweet. ill try and get some sort of warranty on paper though :P
