  1. Is your wheel catchin on the lip of the quard ?? if so that is easy as to roll once that has been done you can flare it from there. I have a guard roller if you want to borrow it. Im in auckland btw
  2. I have a cusco style bolt in cage and some black door cards. I have got 16x7.8 and 16x8.5 bbs rs on my series 5 with 195's up front and 205 out the back tucking tire and scraps everywhere cats eye etc just an idea if your thinking of slamming it on 15's pm if your keen for parts i might have coilovers and stuff for sale early next year
  3. ive got 13x7 -19 super lights with 175 50 13's on my mk1 escort with rolled guards, the suspension is leaf rear and coilovers up front have not problems even with 4 people.

  7. hey ive got a gaurd roller but im in auckland so im of no real help but i did own a chevette wagon and found you can use a guard roller on the front guards ok but the rear guards are really thick and dont roll easily or well. I do it as a part time job and on my chevette on the rear i used a hammer and dolly came out mint.

  9. cheers for that everyone. and i had the pinto in and mounted with the 5 speed on it etc and it fitted sweet itfor sale atm but if it dont sell it i will rebuild it and run that at a later date depending on my money and others cars this is more of a side project for me atm but i will keep you updated.
  10. hey, Im doing an engine conversion on my 1979 vaxuhall chevette, I have a G200 piazza motor and 5 speed gear box, and disc rear end. I have fitted the rear end all is sweet with that, what i am wondering is with the engine conversion what engine moubts should i use ?? the standard 1275cc engine mounts or the g200 engine mounts ?? and with the gear box crossmember what mods do i have to make?? and what drive shaft do i need to use the standard chevette driveshaft or piazza one?? and last question im putting the front hubs, disc's and brakes from the piazza onto the chevette, im just wondering is the offset different or the same ?? any info will be primo. thanks David.
  11. re- guard rolling no it want make the guards look any bigger unless you got them flared, it can be done with out cracking the paint if you use a heat gun and a guard roller or metal bar, if your in Auckland i have a guard roller and do it on weekends, I'm doing my girlfriends this weekend or next i can let you know how it goes if you like. cheers David.
  12. drop spindles if you can get them or get them made up - not cheap tho or remove the thread with nut on the you wound down and install a longer thread duno if you can do it on your van or if it the same set up as a l300 but yeh some ideas duno if they will work or be safe tho

  15. its not that low well not the front i will be down to have some photos in the up and coming summer months after the turbo pinto goes in hopefully start this weekend and once it gets its new paint on the and is nice and straight and mikuni leave the bumpers on it doesnt look that good in person i have bumpers that im going to fix up and paint but need some time and it wasnt a chevette at pick a part it was a gemini wagon , there was a guy pulling some parts of it for his chevette said he lived in hamilton but left it at that was that anyone on here??

  18. So i have not owned an escort in a few years so might change my name, but this is my new oldschool toy, some of you mite remember it off here as it was for sale. My mate bought this car from the guy in Hamilton and drove it up to auks parked it out his house for 2 weeks didn't use it at all so i bought it.I used it for a few days as it was then decided it was a bit high for my liking so lowered it - it will be getting custom made springs at sum point but i fitted new shocks front and rear thanks to my brother Subaru getting coilovers so it rides ok.The i got sum 13x7inch widened steelies of trade me and sum 175/50/13's put on now im in the process of making a new exhaust as the old one just sat on the ground. then i started to tidy the car up as it leaked all round the place and the rear windows fell out when you opened them o bought a parts car and took the door seals, front and rear windows. center console, ignition barrel and covers, bumpers etc etc and have fitted all but the bumpers so its nice and dry now. I have started to panel it and weld up some rips in the metal etc etc so yeah i also fitted 2 kw fixed back buckets and some sounds i will put photos of those up this weekend and also have a motor that im building. Photos - some people might recognize the motor yes it is a pinto, i have a 38mm tial wastegate and bov a Subaru td04 with a mitsi td04 front housing - the manifold was bought of trademe and i also have a 3puk brass button solid center clutch and sierra 5 speed box to go with it at present im goin to rebuild the motor and run it has a carby turbo keep it old school so i will keep you updated with how things go.
  19. hey , i was putting the clutch and pressure plate back on my girls 1600 crossflow on the weekend it has a lightened flywheel and a new standard clutch and pressure plate that have previouly fitted and diving on for around 200k's so not long before the motor and box where taken out for the engine to be rebuilt, when i went to put the clutch and p/plate on i noticed the p/plate was around 5mm off the flywheel but put the bolts in and it pulled it in, then i put the gear box on that ws not touch, when i had it all together the realease fork that stick out the side of the box for the clutch cable it supper hard and want go either way forward or backwards, then i fitted the starter etc etc and hooked up a battery to start - gear box in neutrel but it would turn over as if the clutch was ingaged have previous had motor running with box on but not clutch etc etc so i span the crank and the shaft span at the back of the box. anyone have any ideas on what i should check when i pull the box back off ??     i have toyo 215 24 17's where 2hundy a tire and r all g i have had potenza's as well and thy were ok had eagle f1's and even with very little tread where gud in both wet and dry also have some other tires on my daily i will get the name and there pretty gud all round but would recommend eagles or toyos
  22. um i hav a 4inch reset in the rear and the front at the mo i just cut springs so i cn move it around but im gtting coilovers so it can go lower
  23. the wheels and tires are worth around $4000 but i payed $1500 there second hand but only a couple months old there 15x7 inch simmons b45's and cheers
