Stuffed old Engine Mounts??

If any of your old Engine Mounts are stuffed, take them to your nearest branch of BNT and they will send them away to be remade with stuff like what the Nolathane bushes are made of! This is WAY stronger than normal rubber so perfect for when thrashin your oldschool ride.

They can do pretty much any kind of mounts - I sent my two mounts on my North South beam in the Primera away to get done, just fitted it today and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Hardly any flex in the mounts at all! They did put a couple of cutouts in the mounts - even though I asked for SOLID mounts :x But it doesn't seem too bad as it is.

I'll be sending my old 1600 mounts away soon so they are all ready for the extra power of the SR20.

My Boss has had his old Anglia ones done too after his 1600 engine kept breaking the original ones.

Will update when I find out how much it actually cost me...

To get new ones for my 2L conversion for the escort I went into a local trucking parts supplier and picked up a couple off the shelf. Just a basic round mount (available in different heights) with the metal plates bonded to either side with the studs welded to the plates.

All the dimensions are the same as my old ones.

Warning to those using polyeurethane or similar bushes for engine mounts - by current nz law you should have all mounts for engine and g/box made of the same material. It'll probably only get picked up by an overzealous wof check or your certifier (not that most here bother with that anyway...).

yeah this would put more strain on ya chassis but if it can handle it it would be a good thing, and movement in ya mounts is lost torque that is been wasted instead of sent down ya drivetrain :D sounds good i might look into a set

I cant see this as a good idea....

Nolathane is sposed 2 tighten up your suspension, putting urethane in ur mounts will tighten them up, putting all stress str8 into ur chassis.

Unless its a different grade of urthane

It seems like exactly the same stuff to me... BUT... They do cut little gaps in them so it isn't TOTALLY solid! My Bosses Anglia went through for Cert with those engine mounts in there too. Is mint to drive, just notice a small vibration into the body when starting, but otherwise isn't harsh at all.

If you are all too scared to use them then no point bitchin about it!

Shit sorry! From what I've seen they seem to range from about $80 - $120 each, probably pay to ask them first!! My Shitty Primera ones were cheaper than my boss' Anglia ones for some reason! Thought mine would have cost more cause they are way bigger!

Yeah but they aren't exchange mounts, they just fill your old mount and send it back, the front one for the Primera was welded to the North South beam so had to be sent up with it. Was a real mission for them to stick it in the oven type thing they have cause of that, but I'm not complaining about the cheaper price! :D
