Its been a while and after Gumboot the car sat in the shed for a few weeks untouched .The exhaust was broken again runner 4 this time so I got that fixed. Was taking it for a WOF when it just stopped dead no power checked it over slight burning smell every thing was tight couldn't find any problems so a tow truck was called turned out that the dio plate had fallen apart after 1500km Next the gear box was starting to show signs of wear 1st and 2nd gear where getting very hard to select and the car was bleeding all over the place So we are one and a half weeks away from the drags and the motor is out to replace the gear box and fix the oil leaks which turns out to be the rear main seal and the fuel pump as well as the gear box . Also found one of the carbs was leaking fuel as well so picking some seals from webber specs on thursday. Did manage to pick up a new set 13x7 of race wheels

Take your starter out and bench test it . See if you can slow it down with a stick while it is running . I had a something much the same turned out to be a lazy starter

The Van has been working hard for the last few months there have been a few little problems to work though. First was the continued water pooling inside in the end a new set of door rubbers fixed the problem Had an extra edge from the last ones I got so where a pain to fit but do a very good job next on the the list was the ongoing problem of people pulling in front of the van or trying to run into it so a real horn was required 135 Db later lets say a few people have been scared The sagging sun visors was next and thanks to a donor car I bought many months ago and haven't touched yet. I have quite a few spares for the fleet. The rubber was worn as well so new tyres where needed and the thermostat wasn't working either so after replacing showed the radiator was blocked and needed a flush

If you are going to race go with the Ashley law ones . I have broken my 105 speed ones twice now
