  1. Try this https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8kpZr-ZNJEYWnZYeDQ0VF9vZFU/ haynes manual for Kent engines
  2. failed on exhaust leak, upper trunion bush, and a big hole in the back guard. (rust) am welding up the back, in between rain showers. have done all the rest, hope to be at hanmer later today...
  3. Put brakes on. Good. Put manifolds on. Good.
  4. Got this the other day. Mate of mine passed away unexpectedly, and I am now the owner. Not how I wanted to get it, but I'll get it back on the road Hope to get it to hanmer in 3 weeks...
  5. Got a home made one that will do 2.4 sheets. Welcome to borrow it for a while. It is a big beast though. Came from a panel shop.
  6. Challenge yourself, you can do this. Fix that, you can fix anything.
  7. Have had good results with Rust-Oleum 2x. Did a motorcycle frame that sat outside for 2 years after, looked as good as the day I sprayed it. About 12 bucks a spray can at Bunnings. Works better than por15 for me, have used both. Nice spray pattern for a rattle can too.
  8. Usually the nichrome wire in the sender wears out. Or the wiper. Earth the sender wire, the gauge should read full. Disconnect it and empty. But yeah, what he said.
  9. There are other people who race these on kart tracks. Have done it in the past. Lots of fun.
  10. Got work in neslon next Wednesday.. Fly in early, leave about 6. Got a couple of inspections to to at the Toyota dealership. Keen to catch up with someone for lunch or whatever. Got a rental for the day too.
  11. Stale fuel kills spark plugs. Seen it, had to replace or sandblast plugs. Pull the plugs and look at the white insulator. If they are not white but shiney grey, that's your problem. Can't even scrape it off with a knife. The coating is all the additives they put in fuel not burning off due to not enough heat. Do a stationary radiator load test to clear the plugs. Or put new ones in it. Also remove the fuel tank and run a steam cleaner through it, for at least 5 minutes, enough to get the tank hot. This will realease the additives that have soaked into the metal. Done it before, works.
  12. Undo the nuts holding the brush plate on and remove it and the armature. There is another bush in side the housing at the other end. Oil that up too. There will be springs behind the brushes, don't loose them.
  13. That round brass thing on the shaft is the bushing. Looks like it's stuck in place. Pull it off and lube it up. Should be behind that star shaped washer thing on the housing. That must have been quite noisey...
  14. Or bring over one day with a box of dobros.
