  1. Go Mopar style? Fenderwell Headers.
  2. Tint man in Cashel street is good. He used to do cash deals.
  3. Cool. Home paint jobs can work out well. It looks much tidier.
  4. Watch out Felixx. There is way more to this than paint etc. You can use the best paint in the world, if your prep work and painting skills aren't so good you will get a poor result.
  5. Try Autolign ot Stocks for some springs.
  6. Sorry not true, Pink or Green stickers have to go to the testing station.
  7. Could just about fit your whole car in the boot so your dive gear won't be a problem. Are you sure you will make it to the water? It sounds like it might be a big day already.
  8. Rangiora used to be pretty low key. I don't think any testing station will be lenient with a pink stickered car though.
  9. Yeah, good plan. Anyone want a ride for a small fuel donation? PM me if you do.
  10. Cheers, thanks for having us round. You need to get that Laurell going, looks like a cool car. Those wheels need fitting to something.
  11. Yeah this is cool. Got some photos of the whole car? Casting you say, I thought the wooden manifold was elaborate for a mock up.
  12. I've got back into working on this in the last couple of weeks. So. BMW 525 radiator that I scored all mounted in the Anglia. Clears the bonet too. I have reinforced the rear crossmember that the gearbox mounts attach too. Not exciting but time consuming. I've mounted my Datsun and Telstar master cylinders to the Anglia pedal box with out cutting or welding the pedal box. Hopefully the cert man will be happy with it. The fire wall and trans tunnel are done too, its mostly welded in. I ran out of argoshield across the top of the firewall , enough to shore the body up is done while I replace the floor pans and repair the left front guard. Thanks. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25081
  13. Your Viva is 7/16 UNF, most English stuff was before they went metric. Escort mk1 was 7/16 mk2 is 12x1.5. Larger US/Austrailian cars are more often 1/2 UNF. You can buy wheel studs/nuts from Blacks Fastners if you need to change them.
  14. That track looks like a heap of shit. Forget about it. I think the point is going for a drive. So Satutday 13th August Pine acres pub carpark at 10am. If anyone wants a ride let me know.
  15. Hi Dan. I like your Falcon 6 Idea. I wish Valiant sixes had carried on the same. Personaly I would avoid the XF motors and the early OHC ones too. Look for an EB to Au motor. The multi point ones are the best bet. They had a much better auto than the XF-EA1 Falcons too. Also The Hilux diff is a good idea, will you be able to get a ratio low enough though? I think the lowest Toyota do is 3.7 to 1? I don't think Ford ever went over 3.45 to 1 with 16/17 inch wheels.
  16. Would you consider an auto? Ef/El/Au motor and box with column auto? Otherwise it couldn't be to hard to put a Falcon bell housing on a Zephyr box. Plenty of Zephyr boxes ended up on V8s in the day.
  17. Yup its me. Thanks. Yeah its good, I know where the faults are though. It needs more money and work to be where I want it to be.
  18. Cheers man. I have to use it more.
  19. ATF in the gear box works mint. I fill almost all my manual transes with it including T5s and W50s. It makes them shift faster and nicer. Fill it with ATF, it will work fine.
  20. Felixx, thats not much of a fail. If you need spring shackle bushes I'm pretty sure Datsun 1200 ones fit. Otherwise we can turn something down. Try Autolign or BNT for the bushes and rod ends. If you have trouble getting new rod ends HBI engineering in Socburn can rebuild them. @ KK Trips your friends Anglia looks boss, Its had plenty of work on the front and rear wheel arches though. Also any info on the AP5 in the background?
  21. Where in NZ are you? Try Autolign, Chamberlins, The Edge, or Stocks.
  22. Get over your self. Not every one can fit in with your schedule.
  23. There is a good chance your shock is fine, slow rebound sounds OK. The oil might be from the old hydraulic shocks that were fitted originaly and not cleaned up. I have used AE82 shocks in my shortened Mk2 Escort struts. Its quite a bit of work but makes the strut about 100mm shorter.
