  1. Good work. How tall are you planning on making the front wheel? do you think you'll go to the street race this year?
  2. Hearty. I think I have asked about them before. Convert your sedan to gas, it'll be easier on your pocket, the environment and it'll stay spotless inside (The motor).
  3. Good to see that these are moving ahead. Care to tell me what wheel and tyre you're using on your sedan?
  4. This is about the closest I can find. have a look under the back of a forklift to get a better idea.
  5. Hi Josh. I shortened a mini steering rack once to use in a go kart, it wasn't too hard to do/welder, grinder, vicegrips and about a foot of angle iron. It might save you from making idler arms etc. Today I was thinking about go karts as I some times do. I have seen a couple of carts that had a pivot in the middle of the front axle similar to the way a fork lift is made. It helped the kart to keep four wheels on the ground without the complexity of suspension. Try some wreckers for rod ends you often find them on the shifter linkages of vans and front wheel drive cars with cable shifters.
  6. I think I might have some in the shed. I'll have a look tonight.
  7. to be honest it feels the same, although it's been a year since I drove it last so I've totally forgotten how it was. It's smoother up over 3000rpm and seems to rev freer above that point also.
  8. I hope my W50 continues to live, I've become quite attached to it. Yes and no. It has a Mopar orange ignition box, a new 1.4 ohm coil, and a .6 ohm ballast. It worked it out as about the same as OE. I got a belt off the coil this afternoon and it seemed solid.
  9. It's amazing how clean LPG motors stay inside. I really hope it's a lot of years before I get to find out how clean this one is inside. it went well before, I think I'll book it at the LPG shop for a tune in a week or two and see how it goes after that.
  10. Thanks Bart, I gave it's legs a pretty decent stretch today. I'll stretch them some more next weekend.
  11. 3 years no update. I last drove this one year ago, to Hanmer knowing it had a leaking gasket. I pulled the head off the next weekend, one thing lead to another and a year went by. So, my head gasket had been leaking for some time and made a mess of the head and one bore. The block had been bored to +.090 to 4.000 inch and fitted with 351c stock sized pistons. I should probably have had it honed but hindsight is a wonderful thing. My E49 cam was worn out, valve springs soft and lifters rooted. New motor time. Blah blah 10.25 to one compression, new cam, sump baffle, oil pump brace etc etc. Put it all back together, oil pump air locked, luckily it was being turned over on the key with the plugs out. I still had to pull the push rods out again out of worry about the cam. Sorted that out more trials and tribulations ensued, nothing that some line towing, pulling the gearbox out a couple of times, and buying a new ignition system couldn't solve. It all came together today for the first decent drive in a year, I was very pleased. 245 head fitted with larger 265 valves. Decked block to push the compression up. Now the pistons come proud of the block at T.D.C. ARP Head stud kit and rod bolts. With an oil pump brace. New custom length pushrods, all the metal off the head and block meant my stock pushrods were too long. Sump baffle. All together and nearly all sorted. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?showtopic=28091
  12. Yeah it gets fucking hot too, I can feel it on my legs driving it. One of the kids just about put his hand on it yesterday, just as well I was the only one that saw it.
  13. Yeah it's quite something. There's a bunch of spares too. It's fucking hilarious to drive.
  14. This isn't mine but I think It's relevant to this thread. I helped my neighbour bring his new Ransomes crawled and implements home today. The crawler is MINT and runs like a clock. I spent a good part of the afternoon taking my kids for rides up the drive, road verge, and foot path. I'll do some more on mine at some stage.
  15. well done Josh. I particularly enjoyed the story of retrieval.
  16. If it was a 4.0 that would be quite likely. Kirk, is that at French bay? Edit. Is it a LSD rear?

    Engine mounts

Part Master sell Mount Shop stuff, from memory. Transport wholesale places often have lots of mounts, might be worth a look.
  18. Cool. I <3 e series Falcons.
  19. He worked out of a shed at the van wreckers, there was van parts and bog dust everywhere, the guys who work there were smoking a lot of cigs whilst working on vans, bumpers and such, also when I went to pick up the fuel tank we were getting fixed there was quite a vicious argument going on.
  20. There is a guy in Vagues Road that is pretty good.
  21. Rust repairs. Left rear quarter inside and out side. There is a lot of shapes to work out here... Nearly done now.
  22. Leave home earlier. Nobody can sleep due to excitement.
