I don't want to steel ya thread but i've got a 2wd hilux with a 4y it has good amount of power and tow up hills in top gear no worrys but i was thinking bout giving it a bit more just for the hell of it i don't want to do engine swaps or anything just bolt on power upgrades what would give me good gains? turbo, supercharge carb upgrade need best bang for buck

nice project looking good but i do think you need to upgrade the camera so you have good photos to look back on when your done to show just how much work was really done

a mate of mine had a later model b2000 that had a 1.8 turbo gtx motor and mx5 gearbox in it im sure theres some video of it on youtube some were but i can't find it i was impressed by the power that it had also was alot of fun rwd with a good lsd utes don't usually have alot of weight on the back wheels

i just take it back to them and say how am i spose to set the headlight you guys have the machine to test it and they usually grab a screwdriver and adjust it for ya then off i go home i have set mine my self but to lazy to mess round with them when it comes to wof

well decided to add to this as the kart has been sitting for a while now coz ive been taking on to many side projects don't want this post to suck so time for some pics the kart as it sits now with a broken axle the way fuel prices are i got this it is now been sold as needed cash to pay for projects its somewere in the north island s14 project was thinking rb30 but now its just tidy and sell want oldschool car more tried to outsurce my work but all they do is lay around corona got given came with alot of dents and a big tin of bog so decided to work on my bog skills followed by a spay can matt black paint job so the misses said i have to do up my sons room so sorted some new wall paper for him got a s14 parts car to tidy up my other s14 got a new family car bmw 528i driving to nelson the other day and a frog tried to have a game of chicken with me not sure who came out worse the frog dead or my kit damaged lol the daily work runner is now for sale as some people think i have to many cars so some of them need to go so cash can be spent on the cool cars libero 4wd with blown tranz to fix and sell half way through the fix the ute coz everyone should have a ute they so handy to pick shit up with (might start its on project thred when i get on it) primera to fix and sell the parts primera to wreck and to use to fix the other one there will be more to add to this at a later time but that will do for now

misses is understanding sometimes other times i do first then put up with the moods after it usually settles down after a day or so yeah i still need a new mount havn't really looked for a while just been putting up with a morry exhaust mount on one side was hoping to find a s1 rx7 mount to match the one ive already got. car was checked at the blenheim testing station and it was visual followed by the poking its ok im not to worried i do have other cars to use and it will get fixed and be back better then ever its called a project theres always somthing to be done on it plus theres some other little bits that they let off

update time been a while so i took the car for a wof and was looking all good till the wof man opened the bonnet he was just but to shut it then he lifted it up and says "is that rust" gets his pen out and stabs it through the firewall how would you like it if i went to your car and stabed my pen through it well i guess if it wasn't rusty it wouldn't get through so that was a FAIL took it home and un bolted things of the firwall to sand and work out what is needed to fix turns out theres a bit more rust there then first thought that some nice person has covered with BOG. so at this point done some grinding and cut some bits gotta find someone to weld so the car has been left for now hopfully have some pics next update in 6-9months time dosn't help that i have 13 other cars on the go at the same time little money making ideas

ive heard donno if the info is right but you can use a libero 4wd wagon diff and then you get disk brakes etc also got told they just bout bolt in like i said donno if the info i got told is right ive got a libero in the back yard if you want pics or measurements.

have you checked that there is spark at the end of the coil lead? is there any spark at any of the spark plugs was it runing after you did the points etc check that you points gap still set right could have moved what condition is the inside of the dizzy cap in all the contacts good

mine just running stock tank with a couple external fuel pumps and a surge tank works fine for my 4age

can you not use the stock flares and cut them in half and glass a bit in the middle to make it a bit longer so you can turn ya wheels???

is it the traction control playing up as it wouldn't be getting any signal what the wheels are doing remove the traction control butterfly from the inlet

wheels look real good only took 37 pages to get there is that exhaust tip your final design?

i had 3/8 lines on the evo its way faster then that video clip the closer the valves are to the bags the faster and more contol you have also make sure your air lines are the same length if there different this will make the bags pump up and different speeds you also should put some check valves in as i found that when you hit a bump with enough force it would make the air pressure more on the bag side of the valve and force it back into the tank all i had to do was put one way check valves on the out lets of the tank.

also make sure you make your hoses the same length Im NOT keen on digital pressure gauges as i brought one and it was nothing but trouble it never sits on a reading like it shows in the pic every time someone or somthing moves in the car it put pressure on the bag witch makes the reading change so no point looking at it well driving as every bump you hit makes it go up and down

i don't see any were in there you can't have switchs and to lock out the system last time i ask the cert guy all i needed to do was run the earth for my switchs to the handbrake switch the one that makes the light come on, on the dash. EDIT: just saw on the side note that you can't use park break switch

the bigger the air line and the closer the valves are to each bag the faster and better control if you want to slow a fast system down just get some air taps and put them in the line and half turn them off that restricts the flow slow and stedy what you need to do a set up fittings 4 air bags 8 valves 4x 2way switchs 8 relays air tanks get some mint ones at the truck wreckers air hose - bout $2M and a way to get air in you tank eletric compresser or make one out of a air con pump 2x duel needle gauges 1 air pressure gauge (this is only if you want to know how much air is left in your tank) problems that you face air leaks less joins the less leaks you can have some bags and valves made in usa so when you get fittings you find the thred is different metric or imperal this was the worst nightmare for me
