  7. I am still an invalid sorry Alex, I get out of hospital today and have 6 weeks off for recovery... But the next one yes
  8. Yeah will do... Might bring the charge pipe down to 2" as well to help with lag
  9. Picked up a gze block and pistons and a blacktop so ready to build a strong engine... Will only be doing light duties
  10. Id try to ring Marcus at SAS Manukau, ask him what could be an option in terms of diameter and height and spring rate then go to pickys and get cheap ones. It will be fun times trying to get the top hat off tho. I am dissapoint no one has said bunnings grinder yet edit: I Would just cut standard springs. ooops yes you did
  11. Just a heads up, i heard that this gets pretty full pretty quick so maybe get there 8ish to get a decent spot.
  12. nice car, do these have a 26R or something? leave it as standard and let everyone admire the awesomeness.
  13. holy shrit thats a bigass shed, i was thinkin a double garage type deal and then bammo! thats epic, i see you will have at least a two poster in your future. Much jelly.
  14. Yay another viva... looks tidy. On the point of suggestions, if your keen to tackle the rust (if its got any or not), the main areas to check are under the door sills, rear wheel arch's, under the battery in the engine bay and the bottom edge of the window right where that black paint is. A good idea would be to get some fish oil in a can from stupercheep and put some in the nooks and crannies to prolong its life a little. Sweet ol cars to cruise in... enjoy
  15. Just to add I had an op back in 08 and was sweet as, been going to gym 3 times a week for past 7 weeks for 30 min during lunchtime so ready for the recovery stage.
  16. Yep ah I am 31 and I will be off work for 5 Weeks plan is to re-lap valves so the lifter pump isn't having to work as hard to compensate. Once they do that they will decide using a pressure test if it is ok or if needing a replacement mechanical one... Yep good times will have more time to tinker once out Of the first 3 weeks but chest is sore cos they open you up and then cable tie you back together...
  17. Frayed not my viva friend, i have been working on it but have been told im going in for a heart op (possible double valve replacement) mid jan so wont be attending any shenanigans this time around. Pretty much will try to suss heaps of it out over the holiday break / pre op. I have been swapping the cruddy panels obtained from the parts hc i got and now just doing final steps on the body work before gettting the drivetrain sorted and brakes then paint then interior.... weather is warming up tho so we good to go now with Paint etc.
  18. Gearbox will be slightly different to what was stated with l200 one starter motor position etc... Will be a case of comparing them.
  19. In your case it should just be sorting clutch plates and flywheel then...
  20. Yes that's the right one that will bolt up to block... I'll see if it's the same as l200 as mentioned in earlier post
  21. not sure if this is the same as an l200 gearbox but it can be done... go have a look in http://www.projectzerog.com/ for my mates l200 he got a AWD flywheel machined out a spigot bearing hole and found the smallest l200 clutch available with the correct input shaft. Its not that easy, cos you have to suss out the flywheel and change ring gear and make sure the starter works... also narrow or wide block will be the crucial matter. http://www.projectzerog.com/
  22. oh i dunno how its wired but usually they have 2 other wires ones charge light the other is a 12 v ignition source(apart from the big batt feed), you dont need a charge light but its handy, but re-run the 12v wire directly from the key, this one switches it on or off. Its either that or its a faulty component in the alt.
  23. oh man cant wait to see what this does...
