  1. So epic. Needs nudge bar, winch, side bars and a bar over the roof to hold lights and make rolling easier to deal with.
  2. We are still waiting for someone to do a steam powered anything on this forum. Basically the only thing that can beat Manus creations.
  3. Seemed to be going pretty swell when I left. I had a bit of an accidental rollover on the track in my car lol.
  4. Thats sweet. I need something like that. I never thought about ditching the booster, but that will make things sooo much easier with my motor because the RH head is touching it. that colman pedal box looks like it has way more leverage so you don't need to run a booster.
  5. You don't need to worry about explosions. The worst it will do is catch fire. You do need to make sure the welding surface is 100% clean of diesel though.
  6. Sheerpes, if you did a basic tech article with pictures when you do the other side you would be a super boss among bosses bosses.
  7. You don't weld it full of exhaust gas, you only use it to dispel the petrol vapors. Even if you did it would be safer than normal air because all the oxygen has been removed and you don't get fire without oxygen. Filling a tank with water really is unnecessary but if it makes you feel safer go ahead I guess, just make sure there is zero water in it when you put it back in.

  9. Just cut a large circle out of the tank under the fuel pump location. Build baffles onto the round part you cut out. Re insert into tank and weld back in. Jases double ring baffle above sounds sweet. One way to make sure all the explosive gas is out of the tank is to connect it to the exhaust pipe of a petrol car and let it idle for 15 mins or so. The exhaust gas has minimal oxygen in it and the heat will help evaporate the fuel left in the tank. Saves filling it with water and risking rust / water in fuel.
  10. How about SWAG. "Students; We're Actual Gangsters".
  11. Seedy, do you have a google maps link to that location?
  12. Have not really been watching but has anyone mentioned the 1ND-T from the late model corolla? 1.4L all alloy turbo diesel. 4.8 l/100 km, 90HP and 200Nm. SICK
  13. Use the search and look for "bike carbs". There are 4 pages of threads that contain the phrase.
  14. They put them on the roof because when they are driving through long dry grass the seeds go into the radiator and block it. In NZ you aren't allowed to have anything on the front of the car that can harm a pedestrian. eg, you have to have a bonnet on because if not and you hit a pedestrian they are going to get a face full of sharp engine. I imagine it would be the same as having a radiator in the bonnet.
  15. Hmmm. Initially I thought that those pipes may be too restrictive, but IIRC the thermostat never actually opens that wide to make sure the pressure is high in the motor to stop the water boiling and cavitation of the water pump. You could try one of the official OS sponsors that do race hoses / fittings - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/32734-spr-parts-race-hoses-fittings-and-gauges-10-discount/
  16. How big? Big enough to fit over the radiator inlet/outlet? lol But yeah, that sounds pretty sweet. Do you have a picture or is that the issue? Might be nice for running rad pipes where space is minimal and you're using some aftermarket rad where the lines don't match up.
  17. Palmy has nowhere near enough SWAG to pull it off though lol
  18. lol yeah it was, and with you being new here it is totally normal to comment on the actual thread topic haha. Thanks for your input to the tech forum too. Lots of people sign up only to post 90% in the spam thread. Some of the people who have been around awhile know what seedy is trying to do so can hopefully offer advice on the broader picture.
  19. My mothers old car was a cut and shut that dad and I did. True mechanics car. It had an EFI front and a carb bum so no baffles in tank. It would surge at about 1/4 left lol. We never got round to doing anything about it but a baffled tank would have fixed it.
  20. This is true, but It is the hard way and I don't think this is a race car. A properly designed in tank baffle will work like any other FI car and is soooo much easier and takes up zero cabin space. I would just put normal baffles in it and run an in tank pump. They seem to suffice for every other FI car on the road.
  21. Have you thought about taking the tank out and just putting a baffle in it like the FI tanks have? That's what I will be doing as it saves having all the extra plumbing taking up space.
