Find some trucking places with a weigh bridge will let you scoot across for nothing if you spin a bit of a yarn/ask nicely Must be 2 or 3 round Nelson that you could weigh it on and compare weights. Im keen to put one the 2.5 engines into a b1600 one day

Mission complete! Doing the flush and filter was easy the worst bit was getting the pan off as half the bolts were tucked up under the x member. Old ATF was brown and smelly, there was sooo much filling stuck to the magnets The difference its made to the trans is night and day

Yep has a dipstick. BNT has a listing for a trans filter so must be able to DIY it, its done 300 and sumthing thou kms and Iv never touched the trans since owning it for 3 years so even a 50% fresh fluid change cant be a bad thing.

How do I find out? Its a 93 Telstar if it makes a difference

Whats the go with doing a filter and new ATF on a auto box? Iv never been near one before and their inner workings are black magic as far as Im concerned. Do I just drain the old fluid out and take off the pan to install a new filter? What about draining the torque converter, do I just let it idle in drive so it pumps dry then fill it back up?

Does anyone in Hams live nearish the railway station and would have room to park my car for 4/5 days? Its only my POS daily so on the lawn/edge of the road would be fine. Would adding a panhard rod be of any use in the rear of a hilux? Im just thinking of ways to improve on the current leaf sprung setup when I go low add engine etc, a panhard rod would help reduce side loading of the leafs/hangars when cornering hard, sliding, skids right? or am I worrying about nothing? What about a swaybar for less body roll? I have noticed falcon utes have them so there must be some merit. It wouldnt be hard to adapt something from a surf or similar to work. Thoughts/Ideas?

Bang a turbo and manifold off a 2.4 smurf on it would make it go much better especially with an intercooler and boost tap. I used to run this in slow old toyotas and it made them go alot better after a while
