  1. If im correct - it was the same diff that was in the Gloria?? - is a good idea as there is oodles of guard clearance on the inside to max out the dish department. Its only leaves that are the limiting factor. If i was you, id look out for a Hilux 2wd complete diff (pick a part) and find a 3.9 etc LSD, as ive heard from (or you can chat to) from Fletch (with the silver 230 Wagon) that the spring platforms line up to the leaves. Shorten that to suit as 5x114.3, slam wheels on and get two wheels going.
  2. Also Agree - another customer swears by this stuff for manifolds etc ie GDI, and i sell them 3 cans a month lol (just for your actual experience needs )
  3. Yip i have one customer that swears by it - buys it by the box load for diesels - better mileage etc - only as a fuel additive - there is also a transtune one thats a run and dump - also seems to work. Fuel Treatment is around $20 at BNT
  4. Hey dude - ive got a 4.1 h190 from a solid diff c32 laurel - should be an he or hf - there shouldnt be any difference in fitting etc - cant remember what the difference is - something about stronger or updated bearings. Ill get some pics for you tomorrow. Cool car by the way - my gold one that you saw down here when you called in, is at least now in a shed drying out waiting for me to start on her lol.
  5. I must say great to see such Large car representation from all makes - pics are awesome guys.
  6. He also has my old spare body (tan one that had a hit in the rear) that was quite good in those guard areas - which could be easily replaced.
  7. Mate i just quickly scrolled the build thread - how have i missed this - such awesome.....so wow. Your doing a most excellent job too - i like the matched swages in the floor - not many people go that far anymore. Great Work
  8. So i found a Rack - looks like it should all work properly and doesn't fowl on anything yet. I also managed to find a rear subframe and arms to have a play around with in the rear, not much time to work on this of late due to chicken coop building.
  9. Ah you know me too well. Now parting out............ lol, just kidding - ive got a spare LD that i brought ages ago for $50 that turns over and has been sitting for a year or 2 - might just run her up first on the ground to see what thats like.
  10. Picked this up Friday night LD28 5 speed with a 3.5 ratio diff makes it idle at 100kms lol Needs a heap of electrical work and the poor LD Fuel pump is leaking (like lost about 5 litres on the way home - hope no one hit that shit) and needs a general tidy up. Was originals RD28 but someone has mostly finished the conversion to LD as the RD would have fried as always. Heres a few Pics
  11. Has come along way since i brought it across on the ferry from Hawkes Bay (Daily Hack) - great to see it getting the attention it deserves
  12. Rotten luck bro, I'll keep an eye out while I'm on the road during the week. Time for GPS trackers and fuel cuts as the older stuff is easy to Nick these days, compared to like a 2005 Nissan or bmw etc Such a shame good luck every OSer will be on the look out.
  13. Mate - this has to be one of the coolest wagons - love it - The LD conversion is right up my alley lol - i hope your speedo is in miles an hour. Keep up the good work - looks like its fallen into the right hands. When you strap the turbo on apparently just run an exhaust temp gauge (forget the temp keep it under) and keep it under 15psi boost or itll snap the crank (must be a diesel think as those cranks spin up huge boosted pressure in an l28 petrol).
  14. Great going dude - i love what youve done with this car - unfortunately (and fortunately in some ways) buying a property means i cant spendy $$ on my own. Just to let you know, if you didnt already, i think from memory the LD bellhousing mounts are slightly further round than the Petrol L6 ones which means your shifter (and whole gearbox) will be on an angle. Good work using a "C" style gearbox - are easy to get a hold of these days.
  15. This was my old 330 with 205/55r16 on it - probably a bit big for most - i reakon dished as f**k 15's with small tyre are Perfect like aarons 330 Wags. Dish is a must, its a big car.
  16. I've brought a full s13 / r32 rear end, going full independent. Only 4 mounts and two strut towers to make it fit, and alot of cutting. Everything will remain factory width for easy replacement parts so the body will need to be widened. Like bozo wide lol. And I'll use my 15's to start with and end up hopefully with 15x9s on back with semi slicks all round.
  17. Shitty pics - but the master mind has been doing a bit of cutting and welding - xmember in (test fit) and i bolted the arms and hubs up. Gonna need flares and alot of it when we get some new wider wheels (ie negative offset) lol as my old wheels are 15x7 @ +38 offset.
  18. Have you flushed abd back flushed the whole thing - it never got hot with john, and its the same rad and engine - also bypass the heater and try that - i know those heater cores can block up pretty bad. Get the radiator out and have it properly cleaned - i know burnside radiators take the tanks off these and do it properly. A radiator pressure tester / tk head gasket check will give you the good/bad news if the head gasket is blown - these L sixes do have a tendancy to rot the heads and block out when they sit around full of water with no cooland for years aswell. The funny thing is this car has always done this for you - old engine new engine etc, the only thing thats diff is the heater side and piping. - if your getting the radiator done get the heater core done too. We checked w/pump also and i helped do the thermostat - id get another one of those. Sorry i cant be of any actual help but getting someone to do head gasket checks is a first in my book.
  19. If the radiator is the one from the white Brougham it's already been cleaned and tested by a1 radiators. , it had to have an outlet resoldered too. I'd be getting a gauge as my green one was the same at around 3/4
  20. Reminded me of the 230 GX Coupe in my avatar thingo I reckon they look damn cool with them on - for a big car.
  21. Come to my hose, build underground doomsday bunker lol
  22. Home sweet home - got the girls all in one bay of the 2bay shed - sorry for the mess, still sorting / throwing / recycling / burning / cleaning / and finding everything a home. God it takes forever after a move of house. DISCUSSION - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/33315-brocky41-and-lisas-230-240c-wagon-and-330-sedan-discussion/?hl=%2B240c+%2Bdiscussion
