  1. Yeah lambos are wicked sick, but must say very surprised. Doesn't really compute on this forum shuvits in background etc. not normal supercar company Cool anyways.
  2. First thing then - go read a bunch of stuff and get more clued up.
  3. if you work somewhere with/know some nutter old machinist they might be able to machine one up, guy at work did this for someone who has/had the same issue.
  4. blowthrough or draw through? theturboforums/turbomustangs is reasonably good for blowthrough info but mostly they go on about US v8 stuff and holley carbs, which is still applicable but you have to interpret it to whatever you have.
  5. What if pistons dont come above deck? Thats what the block of wood is for, the wood needs to be longer than the stroke so that you lock the piston at the bottom and it cant move either way. A steel strop/plate bolted to the flywheel and a gearbox mounting bolt is probably easier/better in most instances though, unless its a real stubborn one or the design means you cant. And of course, it depends whatever tools/items you have at you disposal at the time.
  6. with the head off, put a piece of wood the bore and then a steel strongback across the bore bolted down with the headbolts. Props if you can break a crank/headbolt.

blowing headgaskets is almost certainly due to n/a having shitter headgaskets and people probably not changing the ignition timing.
  8. Yeah no compressor atm, need to pay for rust/paint on the delta first so only caveman technology for now. I should get it done in a day easy even this way.
  9. Finally got some time back at home to get stuck into this thing started chipping out the sound deadening, which despite what I'd heard isn't too difficult in this case. Just slowish took 2 hours or so to get this far, comes off ok without a heatgun or dry ice. Done the drivers side floor in a couple of hours, hopefully get the rest out over the long weekend. Only bad thing is finding more rough as rust repairs around the place the more I look at the damn thing. Going to have to put a few kg of weld back into it probably partly naked floor A ffew kilos gone Ugly rust repairs.....
  10. Yeah havent seen a factory stainless turbo manifold. And well casting = mass production/ease of manufacture. I've got a steampipe turbs manifold thats been kicking around my garage for about 4 years, inside is still full of carbon/soot no real rust. I'm sure if i I cleaned it and it got wet or the air got really really damp it might start to make big flakes, but its pretty unlikely to corrode significantly in a dry place with a layer of soot on it, or on your car where it gets hot and has a layer of soot on it.
  11. it depends what on them? a rag and kero/meths/degreaser/brakleen etc. usually works reasonably well but unless its only grease and not rust they wont look "like new" Also what wrong with scrubbing them? or do you have about 100 to clean or something like that? I don't know if that silver tarnish remover stuff would work? but thats just a random idea.
  12. Indeed, was lucky enough to be a passenger in a Radical, driven by a Radical racer... all I can say is 'fuuuuuckkkkk'. In fact it took me about 1/2 an hour after the ride to be able to say anything other than that.... Sounds alot like my experience on a hayabusa sidecar at the taupo open day.......faaaaaaaaaaaaaaark
  13. Oh noes I know where this car came from...........ooooowwwaaarr
  14. The goldwing pistons are a good upgrade for a gen one civic motor though!
  15. 1m is tuned for around about 5000rpm (very roughly) cam timing makes some difference to the length also.
  16. didnt the resource consent run out, and its a prick of thing to get again.
  17. it's a big late once you get to the point where you can fill them with water though? once you have roughly worked out the layout its a matter of tacking sections together and then making alterations to those before doing the final welds.
  18. use maths and some wire or something. if you can get them all within about 50mm should be sweet.
  19. Equal length is FAR more important for supercharged/ or n/a than turbo. It's way overrated for turbos, heat is more important in that case. On a 4cyl you usually go fore 4-1 style, so on a 6 I would guess either 6-2-1 or 6-1 would be the go.
  20. that said thinking about it, maybe it's just because the warrant guys cant figure out the italian controls because everything is back to front and upside down etc.
  21. I dont think any of my cars squirters have worked more than like on one occasion. The 124 pump didnt work, but then i dropped the pee bag on the exhaust one day anyway. But never been pulled up for it even by VTNZ.
  22. Fiat twin cam with twin carbs/131 5 speed depends how much power you want/engine characteristics.
  23. does anyone have a 61 or 73? take some measurements/compare crossmembers maybe.
  24. thats shithouse as, hope it's not too bad/Gaz gets better soon/ those unknown fuckwits get mown down by valiants/burnouts on their faces.
  25. when hes talking uzx73 and uzx61 mounts he actually means his custom ones right? those cars never actually got the v8 from the factory. so i think he is meaning mounts made to fit a uz in an X61 will give more clearance in an X73 as the X73 crossmember is a different shape. something like that?
