  1. It was easily worth the 7 hour drive and drained bank account. Chur chur
  2. Suspension City on Haig St is a good place for slammage / parts.
  3. This is tomorrow everyone. You should all make a point of attending. Pizza.
  4. I have heard the diffs are quite strong, but my brothers one managed to blow both the diff and the gearbox on the standard engine.
  5. I'll take the fuel rail off your hands if you no longer need it
  6. Speaking of 1JZs and all that, need to roadtrip it up to you at some point in time in the next couple of weeks.
  7. Where are you and how much do you wanna pay?
  8. I haven't tried that, but yeah. That is around 12 amps.
  9. I was just gonna show up at a random house and start drinking. Figured there'd be a small chance it'd be the right one. There's only 20 or so houses in wellington anyway.
  10. They do use less energy. A 35 watt HID pumps out a shitload more light than a 100W halogen / xenon. Some of them 60/55 +50 whatever they call them bulbs are pretty sweet, if your car takes H4 hi/lows. Ya probably can't safely run 100W without upgrading the wiring and bulb housing, as they pump out a lot of heat and pull many more amps, but 100W highbeams are quite lush.
  11. Yeah I ran them in the crown for awhile. Didn't even need to use highbeams, but when I did I could easily see a few km down the road. Dunno what it looked like to on coming traffic, but I doubt they would have enjoyed it. I have yet to find any HID approved 5 3/4" housings. Startup voltage on them is around 18-20KV, dropping down to 6 or so KV when warmed up.
  12. The driveshaft is indeed. Mash it in there.
  13. Nah it was pretty shitty advise. I read an article awhile ago about BMW (I think) not releasing their latest diesel models in NZ due to the substandard fuel, and the one they did finally release was basically an NZ only version that had an older model engine in it. From what I've heard Gull sells the best quality diesel. Would like some confirmation on this, but they are the cheapest.
  14. NZ diesel is very shit compared to other countries, and a lot of the new high tech diesels have some issues running on it. Sometimes wrecks the fuel pumps / injectors / doesn't like being under 44,000PSI pressure etc. Solution = '88 Hiace with a turbo 3L

    Diesel bug

Yikes. Not keen on that. What are some preventative measures for this shit? As that sounds like way too much hard work.

  19. Remove 1UZ from Soarer, insert in wagon? Alternatively, Detroit Diesel.
  20. Oh hello. Yes I may in fact be doing that in the next couple of weeks. Not 100% confirmed though so I will report back later.
  21. My CT26 took a shitload of "gentle" tapping before it came off. So yah, keep tapping.
