  1. Jeez 4 years aye. Well my Harley is just about finished and while sharing a sharn with @RUNAMUCK in my shed on friday Bart did what he tries to do with everyone and thats convince them to supercharge everything and turns out I was ready for this preachers words and I spent the rest of the day thinking about how this bike will be very difficult to make road legal so I might as well get into a motorsport so Im gonna build it into a vintage Drag bike. Have always had a soft spot for Engineered to Slides Triumph 500 Drag bike so thats the style direction. Im gonna need Aisin 300 Supercharger. Suitable Carb Mickey Thompson Drag slick Norton Gearbox Than Ill fabricate the rest. Ive also decided that this is perfect bike to learn how to tig weld so Ill also look at purchasing a DC Tig welder and get into that to make Fuel Tanks and Pulley Covers and Manifolds. Should be alot of fun to tinker away on .
  2. Sounds like ya got ya perfect plans in place and its a great base to start with..utilise the two stroke oil tank space for beers / tools when ya fit the Lifan
  3. Yeah im predicting 60km max
  4. Got some longer forks lined up for it. Stock Harley Springer to the left for scale. Havent had final welding so I cam tweal the height a bit. Will run the springer with a drum 21 " front
  5. I quite like where this is heading ! Will be quite the death machine with that motor and you riding it
  6. Made some progress tonite with my good mate Mush sorted out the cutting and welding for the pipes. Done !
  7. As much as I enjoyed this last year and the relaxed style of the weekend and the fine folk to ride with ill be passing on attending again. Have got a stack of other roads id like to ride which means no riding the same road twice. Im sure there will be other loud bikes to make up the lack of QCR. Will still watch out for photos of the wild times
  8. Damn this is a cool project dude ! Looking forward to more Lowrider is rad as fuck and ya brother K100 is real nice. Really love those bikes aye. Solid bricks that get along nicely
  9. Cool bike mate. Looks like its built to do big Km camping trips
  10. I worked with a guy when I was Coachbuilding and he had one of these he restored that was in similar condition to how you found yours. His had VW floor pan and powerplant. Was a maroon looking colour and have spotted it at the occasional car show .
  11. At least ya know you can head in that direction if need be later
  12. Mine bolted straight up aye. Mish mash of cables between the the yb motor and F5 and it the wiring was plug for plug and I used the stock yb100 pipe with baffle removed. Stock I could get 110km out of it with me and all my camp gear
  13. Choice ya getting back into it mate. Rode my F5 the other day and forgot how much I love my two stroke. Plus 1 for using that as a tool kit. Also throw the battery in the bin and run a trailtech regulator and then you free up all that space for beers
  14. Looks damn cool mate. If there was voting for what to do next id vote for leave that sweet patina frame and roll with all ya shiny new parts and just start collecting photos outside sweet old southland pubs. Nice work
  15. New taillight mount that not intergrates the indicators
  16. Im using a Ultima wiring harness unit on the Ironhead. Made life pretty simple for a guy who hates wiring. Also using Modern Motorcycle Company micro switches on the bars with internal bar wiring for that clean look
  17. To test for air leaks around intake spray some start ya bastard around it while running and if revs increase then you will know..also check all your ignition earths are good. Balancing your carbs will also help too. Have you got fuel filter in place ?
  18. Another job done. Number plate mounted off a old drag pipe exhaust mount. Going to re do the rear Indicator mounts and have them each side of the taillight instead of just under the seat Will work on that this weekend. Got some more Harley pipes on thier way which should be enough bits to get these Cocktail shakers connected to the motor. Quite keen to see how your pipes mate up to your motor @Lord Gruntfuttock. This slide the pipe over the exhaust port and clamp idea is shit
  19. Yeah ive always been the same with just having a speedo. Where is your one from and what Diameter ?
  20. Shit photo but got the tallight mounted. In keeping with the spending no money on this thing I used this Ali X Fuck taillight . And also whipped up a small mount for the Cocktail shakers. Front bullet indicators are mounted and the rear ones should be easy enough. Next up is Chain guard next week
  21. Yeah we seen heaps of jumping fish and the lake was super flat @Mof. Will check it out for sure. Keen to take Van with a bike in the back to scope out some good spots
  22. Yeah Balmoral is a nice spot for sure but Lake Taylor is about a hour inland and I fell in love with that doc campground. Gonna load the Van up and head there at Easter
