got new radiator fan. red the instructions and discovered that the old fan had the fan blades on the wrong way round. amazing what happens when you read the instructions. ive made new mounts for the fan and reassembled the front. radiator and intercooler are in, headlights are on and everything lines up fairly well. need new fan belt and glycol and were back in business. oh, and i need to get my backup bumper to fit, its rusty as and bent to fuck but not as bad as the one spencer modified for me plan is to drive to work on monday. plans have been known to change.....

and i am captain beautiful. this has been proven at least twice, maybe even three times.

na, everything is superficial, all the bits that bent are like brackets, headlight buckets and such. the bonnet and guard are bent but they can be easily fixed (if Peter is to be believed) the only thing that is causing some concern is the intercooler. it took a pretty hard hit. i know this because of the dents in the chassis that the intercooler made in its travels. visual inspection tells me that its in good shape, i lost no boost that i was aware of when i raced after the crash. i will have it pressure tested but i can tell you this, the quality of a genuine skyline GTR intercooler is extraordinary. it was twisted and bent, quite substantially, and i put it to rights. i can tell you its still good, tests will follow but if i had a cheap chinese copy i would be throwing it in the bin now. while ive got the front apart im taking this opportunity to tidy up a few things, i wish i had a proper AC welder........ anywho, will see you at the next track day. sheepers.

as your all aware this happened at the last track day. after the incident my and KK checked the car over and decided all as well, a little bent on the outside but the important bits were ok, so i went back out and raced for the rest of the day. the car was fine (except for the radiator fan falling off) i did a 1.25.1 before the crash and i did the same time latter in the day. the car felt fine so im sure nothing fundamental was bent. skip forward a few months and im now back from holiday and getting stuck into fixing the damage. ive pretty much fixed all the little bits that were bent, my great friend Peter is going to fix the gard and the bonnet but the rest is done and ready to go back together. if i really needed to i could drive it to work on monday so all in all, not to bad. ill hold off re-spraying the gard/bonnet for the meantime. i want to concentrate my time (and more importantly my money) on getting my RA28 going. its been waaaaaaaaaayyy to long since that car has moved under its own power. my only regret is nothing. i built this car to race, and race i shall!! sheepers.

any old shit will work OK as long as the surfaces are clean. isopropyl alcohol is the way to go. clean it really well and you wont have another problem, wipe it with a rag and leave a nice layer of oil on the flange face and it will leak every time. sheepers.

"motor will last nearly forever" on LPG? i dont fucking think so. unless you run oil feeders into your carb/fuel injection to lube the valve stems and guides. seen so many old LPG convos with valve stems and guides completely fucked due to lack of the lube that petrol would normally provide. LPG=fail. sheepers
