  1. Heh, broken apex seals are entirely my fault, two busted ones in the front housing. Don't know how long it would have run though as it was!
  2. Long time no update...various things have conspired against me. But finally stripped the motor tonight, and though I'd share some of the lols I had Gaskets are for rampant faggots Side seal clearance is also for faggots Multi piece apex seals are cool though Singh grooves make horsepower!!!11 Plans are to make a sweet ornament, and then cry deeply. Might even fix it one day /not actually
  3. I did wonder if this may be the only way - they aren't a complex shape at least! Might whack one out and see what can be done Do you know if he had them on the shelf or if he made them up? I found a website last night in 'murica that sell them, but they have a minimum $50 order and the inserts are like $2US each...
  4. I'm in the process of refurbing a few sets of old alloy wheels, and one wheel in particular has really badly corroded bolt hole inserts...is there anywhere in NZ that can supply these? Would suck to have spent all this time so far polishing them to not be able to use them! Brad
  5. Possibly are, I looked in the boot of mine today and couldn't see them. I went right through my entire loom and stripped out unnecessary stuff so they can't be critical
  6. TRD diffs are designed to take either LSD or non LSD axles, so shouldn't be that
  7. There is a crowd in Levin who's name escapes me right now who do custom gaskets - give me a bit and I'll remember the name. Edit: The imaginatively named Washers & Gaskets Ltd 06 367 6362
  8. Still Toyota diff I guess? Might be an S code diff, 6.38" crownwheel. There is a look on club k to a page that identifies the diffs by measurements
  9. Look for TE71 diffs, identical to AE86 but don't have the 86 tax. Old TT1x Coronas run a drum T series diff, a little bit wider than U diffs but shouldn't make too much difference - I assume yours runs spacers?
  10. IAT is in the upper intake manifold (assuming microguess uses it?), it'll be heat from the block causing it to climb. Vented bonnet is the easiest way to fix it, but they can look pretty naff
  11. Remove engine, put on pallet, send to us, win. Quote doesn't really seem to allow for cleaning time either? Ultra cheap quote! Spencer - don't think you'd need to sonic check a B6 block, they aren't that thin? .020 overbore won't hurt it.
  12. I shudder to think what the bill is like from there, but the finished results looks worth it regardless!
  13. 5200rpm is laggier than I would have expected, I assume your exhaust ports would have been opened up to match? Still, 300rwkw is nothing sneeze at, skid vids ASAP. Also lol at your mate on FB getting fired up at rotary hate
  14. Is your exhaust going under the diff? How much clearance is there?
  15. Hmm, you selling this and me selling the RX-7 may coincide. This would please me greatly.
  16. Amazingly grotesque. Engine choice is definitely win though!
  17. Will be interesting to see how it goes with an SC14. Should just fit a 6/71 and be done with it
  18. No idea who the guy who picked me up was, but was super cautious with mine. Depends on the driver I guess!
  19. Main difference is Corolla uses separate swaybar and castor arms, Starlet uses the swaybar for both.
  20. +1. Dude came and picked me up at 3am from BP Otaki, was $190 to Upper Hutt. GC as driver too.
  21. I made a set for Alistair for his Starlet a few years back, its a bit of cunting around but entirely doable. Finding someone who can do it might be tricky though, I learned the tricks when I was at Appco
