  1. Yeah I have tried Cul8r but first off I want tosee if I can get second hand ones. But they seem like rocking horse pooh in this size....
  2. Can anyone help? Secondhand tyres in above size needed for my Viva. The second hand Toyos I had fitted are wearing out quick plus one front one was stuffed form too much positive camber. I have rotated them but it wont last long on the back..... I'm hoping someone might have something to suit. Just two tyres needed for now. I have tried U save tyres in Nelson but he wants damn near new tyre prices for second hands!... cheers all.
  3. Don't go to Elite unless you want to wait ages. Check out Royce Clive engineering instead.
  4. Which show? must hook up! I'd like some photos of my Viva nest to an Imp or two, them being from similar period etc. This Warwick. Will he finish them or not?
  5. cool. Will possibly be the next car.. One day.. Any imps you know of in nelson?
  6. I want another Imp again. Hannah's first classic was a Imp and it was so sweet. Were there many imps sold in NZ an how much would you expect or should pay for a nice rough but road legal runner? When hannah bought hers in 2002 they were really cheap in England. I think she paid 400 quid taxed and tested. Colour was Prarie wind. Head gasket failed immediately but we got another engine good for 100 quid. So easy to remove the engines! I remember the Imp club being very friendly. We would get about 5-8 Imps along on monthly Oxford area Imp club meets. In 2006 we saw a beautiful light blue Imp van parked up near the Chch airport hangers. Looked wicked. Would love a van.
  7. Go see Shane at Chch radiators on Buchan street. Tell him Alex with the Viva sent you. He's a top bloke and I'm sure will match/better any price for ya plus he loves old cars (Vivas in particular...)
  8. The tow bar on our 1987 4wd Hiace has 1200kg stamped on it just below where it has Hiace stamped.
  9. Missed this meet as I didn't check the thread My fault. Will be up for next meet hopefully. Or if i hear of other meets that can be linked together I'll post em up. I know the Nelson Mr2 club and Vauxhall club do lots of meets together! Its because the mr2 club secretary is also well into old vauxhalls Strange mix I know...
  10. If you ever lack the Mojo man just go outside, hop into car and turn on the lights. Then turn on that little light above radio. result.. mojo back. Job done. This car is so cool. I think its ugly as fuck but its so cool with that. All the extra little things all add up to making one very choice ride. I say leave it standard as. Put the steels back on, buy them hubcaps and just cruise in the coolest way possible. Chill and enjoy a good summer cruising. Cheers for both you and Sheepers swinging by and chilling out. Your top dudes. We totally forgot to show you guys the glow worms! Ask Prozac about them as we had showed them when through the week before.
  11. whats that sunshine thing going on? nelson doesn't have that?
  12. and did you know... 'The Fuego was the first car in the world to have a remote keyless system with central locking that was available from the 1983 model year' Thanks wiki...
  13. Very very cool. If you do paint it you have to replace the turbo stickers on the doors and the AA sticker on the back. I used to see many of these about when I were young- now very rare?
  14. I'm sure I saw a truck just like yours being freighted on the back of another big truck the other day in Nelson. It looked tidy. I almost crashed as I stared at it.
  15. Yeah we are lucky to get a place there. Yep I think going by the amount of sausages that we all ate they met the appropriate standards. Richies new car by the way...has the coolest feature. A button below the radio switches on a tiny bulb to illuminate the radio area. Oh my. I so want that in my Viva. and a radio..
  16. Dave and Rich stayed over last night. Took them for a spin in Viva, New world for all sorts of essential BBQ stuff and then into the cider. Was all good. The best bit was a quick spin in the Celica. I wont have been the only one to declare after the first 10 secs that I want a car like this. Hannah went a spin in it and came back grinning ear to ear. I'm sizing up a 1uz for one day... Just simply awesome- the speed and the sound!!! They are taking it up and over Takaka hill today after I told them what an awesome hill climb it is. Here's some pics and a short vid I took. Please excuse the girlie squeals of delight... Video..
  17. Yeah get the flares right. They only need to be slightly out and will leak. Rebuild your master cylinder too while your at it. I reckon the original colour looks sweet. And period.
  18. Not far now eh! any plans for paint on outside or will you keep it sleeper like? If it were mine I'd keep it looking stock and surprise a few..
  19. That is indeed a lot of minty fresh car for the money!
  20. Love it! So cute. I'd keep it as is and just use it. Or put a bike engine in place... Are these the same a suzuki carry van? And are suzuki carry vans the same as a bedford rascal?
  21. Yeah shaft drive heading out back with the engine longitudley (sp?) mounted I think they would be a fairly easy swap into an small rwd car. Would just need reverse. But your fix on that works!
  22. Grandpa it all over. and remove a plug lead so it runs on 3.
