wanting a gn250 engine
incase the guy doesnt want to ship - is there anyone who could go grab it for me?
or even better, anyone comming north?
chur chur
just to add on
typically every manufacturer will have their own "recipe" when it comes to casting stuff so some will weld better than others
The black bits are impurities in the aluminium, so pays to get rid of them if you want a good weld
got bolts today - lush ones
kicked over, no start - pull carb = absolutely caked with shit. Have blown it all out except for the idle jet which is really clogged, so have that sitting in some carb cleaner
its the red one above
na none of mine have had leg guards
the suzuki place in whakatane had one with a leg guard and screen!
will post pics this weekend (maybe a vid of when i first start it)
just wants some more bolts in the gearbox cover and the nut to hold the swing arm on
just found a manual online
http://www.scribd.com/doc/3829256/1980-Suzuki-FA50-Service-Manual
theres an owners manual on there too
BTW if you want to hotwire an fa50 - its
grey+yellow
Orange + red
what needles are you using?
you may need ones with less taper - i.e you are spot on tuning at idle, but with a bit of tit its overfueling
edit - lol jets
further edit
exhaust blown out somewhere?
also - i understand if you ditch the oil "injector" and run premix you can get a couple kph out of it
can also convert the oil tank to the reserve tank
havnt really looked into it
personally i would slam an 80cc piston on there and put stiffer springs in the clutch
thats just about it really - maybe a tuned exhaust modded to fit
EDIT: DAMMIT IM GETTING PERFORMANCE DREAMS ON SOMETHING I SHOULD JUST GET GOING
looks like the fz50 (im sure they came out as 80cc too)
much better and tunable than the fa50 from what i understand (can also regear them alot easier, slam on a lz80 i think it is (quad bike) carb and doo dorts)
Edit:
i have a manual for the fz50 here (also known as the suzy)
