  1. Picked up this other Woody for a parts car for the project, but might be too good to wreck?
  2. Had to walk back through the thread to see the last time it was running - 2013? No wonder you had a big smile when it started up - well done. Classy return spring setup too
  3. It's been raining outside so I haven't checked that. Hopefully someone will give me $1500 and take it away. Still has WOF and REG even. And a brand new windscreen
  4. You can edit your posts if you want to, just use the 3 little dots
  5. Good idea, but didn't help Maybe? Would that kill it dead just like that though? Have listed it on FB Marketplace so will hopefully be someone elses problem soon.
  6. The pump runs and fuel flows past the injectors while cranking, so I'd expect it to start/fire at least.
  7. So, Pajero's FInally bodged another fuel pump into this heap today but still no go. Fump is running OK - fuel flows out the return line while cranking. It stopped running just a few hundred metres from home a couple of weeks back with no drama, 1/2 power for a bit, then recovered, then no power Anything else easy to check?
  8. Depends on the cop, probably. Anyone can scan them and get a (temporary) link to the deets and photos if you can get your phone close enough to the tag.
  9. Nope, still got it. Know anybody crazy enough? https://www.trademe.co.nz/3085641159
  10. Would a normal electrical wholesaler have this sort of thing, and be able to crimp a lug on the end?
  11. Yep, know anyone who is keen? I really need one less project, and there is a better chance of selling this than a 1/2 done Morris Minor.
  12. I eventually unpacked the whole lot because I didn't want to risk the masking tape becoming permanently stuck to the wood. A quick test-fit of one of the rear pieces but for now the wood is all back in the crates to protect it from the sun and damage while I work (or not) on the body issues. It's seriously nice stuff from Rick though.
  13. The crates left LA on 7 September 2020, but didn't arrive in Auckland until 30 September, then down to Wellington by mid-October where I had to pay the shipping and taxes (ouch) Just managed to squeeze them into the Poojero for the trip home. They were very well packed. The smallest crate was assorted parts the middle one had the door pieces, even signed
  14. Ordered some of these Projecta 1000A clamps. Kind of spendy but seem grunty enough. Now to get some cables.
  15. I've been running a Petronix ignitor in my 390 for years, saves a lot of messing around with points.
  16. It was a long process, we confirmed the order in September 2019. The framing is maple and the insert plywood is mahogany veneer. Also included a full set of the interior panels also in mahogany ply. These pics are from April 2020 which was of course Covid Time. I'd also bought a few necessary parts from Rick, and others from Tom Fritz (https://www.ccrod.com/home.htm). Got some new repro sill plates from https://cgfordparts.com/. These parts were all shipped to Rick in Tacoma who crated them up for me along with the wood parts. I arranged the shipping with Mainfreight / Kiwi Shipping including the Tacoma WA to Garden CA leg. They left Tacoma on 22 July 2020.
  17. I like to use old seatbelts for engine lifting. Fixed ones are better as they have bolt eyes at each end. Haven't broken one yet.
  18. Surely the only OS rally car worth bothering with is an Escort?
  19. Trashing mitsi's is fair game anywhere surely?
  20. I'd never had a car that broke down 1km from home and had to be flat-towed back by the AA man until I owned a mitsubishi.
