Took it up to PNorth to get hot dipped as I don't want it to rust. Then painted with Galv One primer and black lumbersider on top. Pretty happy with the outcome, should have got on with it sooner- 1289 replies

This year I got sick of the space it was taking up so decided on a sun shape to fill the sides, made the flames using the little forge and anvil and bent the rings rather dangerously on the old lathe and welded them in.- 1289 replies

Must be getting close to 20 years since I started this garden archway. I bent the hoops to an elliptic profile (which looks better than 1/2 round) in the early/mid 2000's then it sat around getting in the way like this until the first 2020 lockdown when I finished the lattice on the top -
Charge them T&M for returning it?

How come the XJ8 is a cheaper purchase? Also, Land Rover is high performance? That exclusion is wide open to interpretation.

Tig welder question This is my machine, will it work with the type of torch that connects separately for the power (in the - terminal) and gas (where the tig torch connects now)? I kinda assume so because you can buy adaptors that do the opposite?

That doesn't seem right, winding the T-piece down should push the shraeder valve down to let the fluid in/out of the system. If winding it out doesn't seal let the valve seal then something is out of whack. Can you dismantle the valve? -

For a 1977, rear seatbelts are not required as per this table Seatbelts and seatbelt anchorages - NZTA Vehicle Portal Rear brakes don't much of the work so probably not worth upgrading. Doing that would push you into needing lvvta certification, and I think you are going for stock-ish for the rest of the build.
