  1. Yeah that is a good point. Perhaps turbine characteristics would come into it for the other type of supercharger, the one that looks like a turbo? Can't think of the name right now. Interesting also about the various other chargers you can use. Whats the scavenging pump from one of those detroit d's do?
  2. fuck, thats a scary thought
  3. Glad you didn't, they are super gay man. Diesel turbos are different trim turbines that are unsuitable for high reving petrol engines. I would imagine the same would apply for superchargers?
  4. I didn't actually know the sc14 was found on estimas. Are they running a 1g-gze or something? Thats weird. The 1g-gze came out with the sc14 in mid 80s-90s crowns (not sure of chassis code) and the GZ20 soarers aswell. I'm not sure about supras though. I'm pretty sure they didn't come supercharged.
  5. They are cheap as and theres a carburetor shop here that sells them. Only about $20 I think. Try ringing afew carb specilists, if they don't sell them they should have an idea who would.
  6. As far as I've heard 4-2-1 is for more midrange torque, while 4-1 is more top end power. But I think this is rather generallised as length of runners etc comes into it aswell I assume.
  7. Shit, thats a real good height man. Looks like those fronts clear the guards just enough, may rub a little at full lock but thats sweet though.
  8. That build up is really well done. I can actually see why you could be tired of this car. It seems every little detail has been gone over. I haven't even begun on my car yet and I'm tired of it. So impressive though, I think it might be my choice for the best car on the forum.

True, would need custom matched intake manifold and an aftermarket ecu to run it. Then would want to port the head a little and raise comp. Maybe some dirtier cams in there aswell. Would make for a nice little 16v though. Would be way easier/cheaper to bolt some sidies or bike carbs on there.

haha, was going to post that same thing. Not very helpfull are we.
  11. Yeah thats cool. How long ago were those photos taken? Wheels are shit.
  12. Nah that looks like vinyl has been used to me. Can see the colour change etc. Either that or a weird arse way of painting it. Anyway, I like it. Different to the other styles and even different to the other camos which I don't usually rate. The black roof looks quite cool aswell, I just don't like how the boot line has been done, but I know ya don't have a lot of options with continuing the black along there.
  13. Yeap, and theres actually a little thread above this one titles 'stud patterns' that has a hole heap if you need to know any others. //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6781
  14. Yeah that dude ^ knows about turboing things haha. I would say do it. The carb will be the hardest part as already mentioned just to get it tuned and running right. I know alot of people who have tried turbo carb setups and given up in favour of injection, but if your willing to have a play around and run a well thought out blow thru it should work alright. I would start off with a pully size to run around 5 pounds and tune it for 98 and then go from there.
  15. Fuck yeah, that looks awesome bro. I can't believe how sweet they sit on the guards, almost perfect. Got my ones painted but they came out abit av and tyres are a cunt to get hold of aswell. Have you sussed your wof yet or useless?
  16. I'm pretty sure I originally got this photo from a thread you were ripping up at toyspeed. However it is the best ute I have ever seen, so I will put it up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/ ... 0ute-1.jpg
  17. On some forums maybe, on this one, not true. Looking good though. It sure has come along way. I certainly agree you should lower it more to compliment the wheels/white walls.
  18. haha awesome. What size/brand tyres are you running allan?
  19. haha seriously, is it just me or does this engine not look straight to you guys?
  20. Yeah well thats the thing, you can change the fuel pump all you want (he actually did, as he had a similar problem on a 4age cortina), but the problem always remains. If its rust and stuff inside the tank then it will always clog up.
  21. That sounds very similar to a problem a friend of mine had with his finny. nobumps on here if you wanna talk to him about it, but from what I remember.. It could run mint for ages, a couple of hours even. All of a sudden it would stall and not start. If you waited for ages or tried push starting it would often start fine again and be fine from then on. From memory I think it was rust and shit in the fuel tank. I assume that the fuel pump sucks up shit, then the car won't start untill it is turned of and the pressure stops, or until the blockage removes from the fuel line. Hope that makes sense and things.
  22. If you want a spongie shitty ride, with springs that sag with any extra weight in the car, yeah. Otherwise just get some made custom with a nice spring rate. Theres been heaps of threads in the past about compressing springs and its not the one.
  23. Yeah, they would be smooth enough to flow fine at the moment. As I understand it the polish is mainly just to remove any of the rougher casting marks in the head that haven't been machined out from the factory.
  24. You can get a vinal paint that works good. Just have a look at the usual outlets. My mate did it on roof lining, door cards and seats and it held up pretty well. I thought it would rub of the seats but it was fine.. and it was white too.
