YAY! 12 seconds here we come! I mite see you on sunday if it isn't raining.
  2. I think that stud was just put there to mock it up for the purposes of taking that photo.
  3. I think these are A32 cefiro brakes. (NOT MINE)
  4. blue diesel bourbon and cola's of course.
  5. I'm going to be out of town that weekend. I would have been passengering anyway.
  6. have we decided where we're going yet? the cruise at the start of this year is a nice drive.
  7. I am without an OS ride on the road atm too, but I'd be keen. Depending how far away it is, I might have a ride on the road. Dirty Lepper is usually up for a cruise too. I can catch a ride with him if need be. Some of the NZdatsun club boys (And girls) might be persuaded to come along too.
  8. good to hear that your still plugging away with the old girl.
  9. I'm no expert, but I saw a C32 medalsit which had been LD powered. That had an H190 solid axle in it.
  10. If you are getting serious h20 collection in your catchcan, do a pressure test of you cooling system. If you have shitloads of blowby, it's time to either rebuild your engine, or get used to the taste or it.
  11. A byproduct of combustion, is H2O. So if your motor has blowby, you're going to get some condensation in your crankcase. if your PCV systemaint working as per factory, then it'll seep out your breathers. The only time I've had serious water build up in my catchcan, was when I had a cracked head. Blowby sucks. It's not always ideal to loop you catch can back into the intake. If you plumb it in before the Pump (turbo blower etc) you'll end up coating the inside of your intercoooler with crap. This will reduce it's efficiencey. If you plumb it in after the pump, when your on boost, (and the motor is making the most blowby) there is no vacuum to draw the vapour into the engine.
  12. It's doable fo sho. you'd just need a fuck off big lathe, a Tig welder, and the means to manufacture the piece you're going to use th widen it.
  13. shit mate, you are jinxed when it comes to our cruises. No matter what you do, make sure you are NOT on call on the sunday of labour weekend this year. Thats the day of our BIG cruise. (31 cars last year, more for sure this year)
  14. a rust free, two owner numbers matching three would be worth good coin here. Even uncomplied. bring it back with ya mate.
  15. you'd prolly get 12.5K here for your three, even uncomplianced. If you still have the orignal numbers matching motor for it, maybe more.
  16. How much would you get for it in the UK? I know a bloke here who is building a 13bt 808 coupe with rx3 tail lights etc, with a veiw onsell it when it's finished. If you're going to be able to get 15-20NZD equivelnt for it over there, you'll be able to buy a pretty sweet one here. BUT, you KNOW that yours is rust free.
  17. Someone else who has been through it personaly might be able to shed a bit more light on it for you. But a mate of mine bought a JDM datsun 510 coupe. And to get compliancing I think the guy looked at it two or three times. A coachbuilder I know deals with a cert man here in CHCH. Maybe you'd want to find out if the pics from your build thread would be good enough to get it passed? Or try find some plates and tags from a derego'd 3 coupe, and just get it revin'd. I think the revin check is much less anal than the compliancing for an imported vehicle.
  18. I read your entire build thread when you posted the link. A bit of food for thought though, If the guy who does the compliancing sees ANY of the rust repairs, you'll be required to get a repair cert for the work. Thhis usually means giving some engineer type guy a wad of cash. But Of the ones I've seen done, the guy wanted to inspect the repair before during and after it was done. Which might cause you a headache.
  19. My 2c, make sure that the secondary butterfly's are being held shut by the wee spring when it's idling. I have a corty that idled all over the show. The secondaries were pulsing just a wee bit and fucking withow it idled.
  20. My val has had the tray cut. It was done at least ten years before anyone gave a fuck about shit like that. I'm going to use custom wood and box it all up so no one can see shit.
  21. I got caught out by that when I owned a rotor. I pulled the pulleys off to paint them, and slapped them back on. And none of the timing marks made any sence. Cunt of an idea if you ask me. I got a shop to sort it for me in the end.
  22. was working on my VG tonight. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  23. I think the slip was even faster than that. I did tell him that he should post it up.
  24. I didn't bother race, even though I did have use of the old mans ute. I was too hungover and I CBF in the end. BUT, I did shoot out for a look. I'm pleased to report that EFI_LC got his 1st sub 13 seconds timeslip. Maybe if we're lucky he'll post a pic of it.
