as per my last post, found what seem to be suitable pistons in a motor more common on this forum, anyone in aux got one in bits i can measure up a piston/a wrecked piston i can borrow etc/ill bring beer and drink it with you while i measure it/ inspect it etc? are all the pistons in these the same? working from parts catalogs is pretty unhelpful, there flat top as far as i/google images can tell? love you

i dont actually know what the crank is but it has the same stroke as the leyland, at any rate the motor has been happily(?) run hard for some years just it needs an overbore and its got some odball pistons in it to suit the factory rods (with big half moons machined out of them to clear the crank) so i was looking for something else to replace with, all those r motors according to the cattledog had bores 88 to 92, im aiming for 90 so was hoping the oversize of the smaller ones would put me in about the right place.

18R, 3R, 5R, 6R, 22R, i know nothing about these motors besides im pretty sure they house the size of pistons i want for a rover v8 with a leyland crankshaft according to an acl catalouge based on comp height diameter and pin diameter, (have to machine skirts a bit) and a crude drawing of combustion face, are they common? anybody know of one laying around id like to have a look at the combustion face etc before i go order 2 sets and change my mind

you can get tachs that work off your alternator my cousin got anal sex over this/they changed it so they could turn it on and off for when they got pulled over. this is small town sth island i highly doubt youd get done in a city "sir please drive 1 km and stop again" in peak hour traffic.

ill ask a bit more about spraybog this week at paint supplyer but, how thick can you get it on?/do you put it on with a pressure pot/airless sprayer type setup?/as hard as normal finishing bog to sand? it sounds like what i need,/probibly just convincing myself theres an easy way that doesnt really exist does that spraybog stuff look like severe acne when its sprayed on?

talked to some boat painters and ended up using 2pot epotec high fill and a foam roller for the high fill shit read the other shit and will start blocking it 2mo/more bog and next highfill next wkeend. its far more rippley/fucked then i thought/ got a window of oppertunity to do it in empty factory so cars get no attention this month. big ripply curves ftl have to paint it matte black.

i have teh gearz but im a terrible painter teach me to prepare and paint single pot system as if i was a complete noob in a simple 10 step list pls. assuming ripply but straight panels starting with noozle sizes for what what fillers to use where progressing thru etch/high fill(spray bog?) to top coat go (am renaming boat ginger nuts and want to paint it all the gingernuts colours) love you. unless this has allready been covered

just do nothing/paint it with a spraycan if your on a budget. its not going to go anywhere/if your lucky it may go a tinge of brown inside if you leave it sitting for 10 years yo. por15/"wattyl rust kill"/powdercoating looks sexy tho. matty b ftw.

too early to look at a picture of it but have you considered soaking windings in shellac/ thinned epoxy.

apprantly the chrome was better than the other 12a stuff/? although i cant say ive ever heard anybody specifically say "aw mang i had to pull my motor down cauz my early 12a housing chrome broke up bayzzzz"?
