  1. clutch adjustment prehaps??? and the thrust bearing , whatever else u wana call it lol , what the clutch at the pedal like , heapsa travel or none?
  2. rattling might be the thrust bearing but i dont know how that could bugger the gearshifting
  3. yea i beliv in getting the warrents properly , admittedly i take my esky to a dodgy guy but he's been racing cars for 30yrs and knows whats safe and whats not , e.g he gave me a warrent for having differnt seats in my car that were safe, however gave my m8s civic a fail cos of a ripped steering rack boot haha , i dont mind those kinda warrents but letting a car drive around with a locker , cut springs ,flipped leaves, struts taken out is just f***kin dangerous

    where the torsion bars there should be a adjustment thingie there....what kinda car? personally i dot like them mainly cos the cars i work on a f**kin bitched to work on lol , but anyhow yea there should be a point where u can basically wind them down with a socket or summit

    well if you jack up that side of the car that you think has the buggered wheel bearing then grab the tyre and wriggle it ....if it has excessive mvement its the bearing ...ur can tell on the front just spin the wheel and u'll feel the rumbling through the chassis ...changing wheel bearings is piss easy but then again ive only done tapered ones , the whirring might be caused by lack of oil in diff???? mine screamed when it had none in it

    yea should be sweet, apparently the ca series is good for down low torque whereas the sr series has more of the top end stuff ...im not 100% on that though , also the sr20 has a nasty knack of getting the oil galleries blocked that go to the cams so if u own one and it sounds like a sqeaky belt and you adjust that belt and that noise is still there...id stop the car unless you want the lobes to disapear overnight!!!, no cure but a full rebuild unfortunatly , easily fixed by CHANGIN YOUR OIL FILTER and the recomended intervals, told my ex that and she didnt listen ....i could go get the cams if u want ...just my 20cents

  9. is that out of a sierra saphire cos i was servicing one of those and noticed it had a dohc injected 2ltr in it and was thinking the same thing about aftermarket parts and fitting etc
  10. i got honda prelude seat in my esky ..great things cos they keep me from flying out of them whilst cornering ...anyone know how to put seat on the original rails because i have NO idea how to and im getting sick of pulling them out for warrants ...

    well in the weekend on the tga direct road i got up to 165kmh in mah 1600 ...engine didnt mind but i dont have an exhuast nemore , oh and my tyres are larger then the standard rims and hasnt been calibrated ...so wether i was doing that or less i dont have a clue ....just my input

    yea my diff and gearbox arnt ment to be changed lol unless i get some major overhaul on them (what a wast of arse thatd be) , so i only have refill plugs lol

  15. yea i agree i reckon it a vacuum leak if its squeling and wont idle ....check intake maifold , carby to manifold and and such ...if u have a vacuum gauge lying around use that if its below about 10 hgs (or whateva) u have some badass air leak ...i had the same prob turns out my intake gasket had been slightly creased ...

    its this big one i got a spare one but i cant ge teh other insert out without undoing it , the guy that sold my 1600 to me specialises in escorts (need proof i watched his son's escort shit on a gsr) he siad a largish cold flat chisel will do it so i'll try that on my other spare strut ...fingers crossed

    ok i thought this would be straight forward but uhh that lil nut holding the shock insert into the strut HOW THE F****K do u get it out with completly ruinging it like i have on my spare strut?

  19. is the timing set right? i had a problem with the 1600 overheating and it was cos the timing was too far retarded man did it get hot quickly!!!, iunno just my input
  20. what fuel do u have? my 1600 was running on when i first put it in , changed to 96 and presto no more running on,
  21. its a worked 2 ltr cortina motor , he got a serria 5spd in it and a mk4 corty diff , i talk to his dad quite often at work he's making a 2ltr anglia atm , also the guy that sold me my 1600, back onto topic , i use moreys upper cylinder lubricant too comes in the blue bottle , just to keep the fule pump etc nice and lubed
  22. i use just normal upper cylinder lubricant , my car has to run on 96 or it starts pinging for some reason , then deisels for like 15 seconds after i turn it off lmao , might be the timing but 96 did the job so mehgo the 1600 oh yea u can and while im here i saw a mk2 escort chew up a evo last night admittedly it sounded like it was doing 9000 rpm but hey winnings winnin right? ....and no it wasnt cos the evo wasnt going hard

    my choke is weird it dont have choke plates lol it a 28/36 dcd off a 1500 corntina i think?? anyhow my new engine is a bitch to start over because of the brand spanking new rings lol , otherwise it take two rotations of the starter then braap brap brap three cyinders for a few moment then it idles nice and smooooooth , tends to run on for about 4 seconds after i turn it off though bahahaha
