  1. Damn I didn't seen a Hood Ride style VW!! ARgh! Did see some meeeaaan rat rods tho and other cool shit. After going there, that is kinda what I want the Oldschool Nationals weekend in Taupo to be like, but obviously on a smaller scale, building up each year. Will write more on that next week tho - Kumeu was awesome. Took lots of photos so will post up soon.
  2. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft.htm An interesting article if you want to learn about cams and how they work.
  3. So much for having my car ready for the nats... Won't be joining the convoy, never enjoyed the Nats drags day. Too much waiting around and boring cars
  4. Some P fiend tried to fight my mate an I a few weeks ago during an 80s themed 21st. We = "fuck this" + sprinting around streets in skin tight pants and colorful jersies / rank 80s blazers with enranged pink/lavender polo wearing red face blonde cool guy in persuit.

    Safety belts

Front or rear? My car is a 78 and has no rear belts, and it's all good. Just be careful before you start welding things for seat belts, as far as I know, you have to get them certed and stuff. Talk to an engineer first.
  6. I am going to take credit for this choice of rims if you don't mind brad So much for the sceptics, turned out ultimately awesome, best be popping by next time you're coming through Auckland.
  7. 2.6 is a four bro. Also pretty much bolt in and the 2.3. If you can find a twin cam Piazza you could use the 2.0 twin cam engine from that (+ the gear box).. There are about 6 or so easy engine swaps for geminis, depending on the amount of work you want to do.

    stud removal

Spray CRC around them and leave it for a few hours?
  12. Holy mother of God, I saw this car cruising through GI today. Fuuuurrrkin' sweet! Looks awesome IRL!
  13. Go to http://www.imageshack.us and use their upload fucntion and copy the correct code they give you into your post. It's relatively easy.
  14. Awesome, you gotta keep it that color. And I reckon no to the bolt ons, every damn GTO has them. Looks nicer without IMO
  15. I still reckon you've gotta do that oldschool ambulance look. Semi-rat but in good cond, like a vintage ambo - will be awesome!! And different too.
  16. It's not going to be hanging off the bumper, it'll be on the front valance most likely on an angle like // right down the bottom. I doubt anyone could get anywhere near it without trying hard. The cooler I have dosen't have attachments fro braided hoses, only clamp ones. Can I get some sort of fittings to change this?
  17. Hey guys, Just after the legalities of these. I know it should be fine to have one up front, but will I HAVE to run braided lines? I know they are much less suseptable to breakage / tampering than rubber lines. Cheers.
  18. That yellow one is as follows: Engine 930cc Talbot Sunbeam engine, Weber 28/36mm twin-choke carb, Weber manifold, ported Stiletto big-valve head, Piper reground cam, fully balanced and lightened bottom end, Janspeed tubular 4:2:1 exhuast manifold + Lightened, balanced flywheel and and Imp 4-speed box Suspension + Brakes Spax coil overs at front, and Spax dampers and springs at rear MkIII Ford Fiesta XR2i vented front discs Apparantly it revs to 8000rpm - that's about what you want
  19. From your project thread. (BTW Awesome car, I'll post a pic I have of an awesome one soon as).
  20. There is a guy on the corner of Porana and Sunnybrae Rds in Glenfield who I think will do a good job. I've had 2 heads crack tested and refaced by him and he seems pretty onto it. I think it's just called the Cyclinder Head Shop

    nolathanes

I priced some up today at SAS. Was $280 for both trailing arms, and all 4 control arms in the Gem. Not cheap but I guess you get what you pay for.
  22. I dunno where you get them, but I have a hose blocker. it goes around the hose and you scew it up, pushing the hose together and blocking it up. Some kind of chemistry item I think...
  23. Or 13x8 Superlights, OR 14x7 Konig Rewinds. Yeah, tend to agree actaully. go the rewinds, they aint too expensive and you can get them in 0 offset. Perfect. Needs bolt ons and a spook tho
