  1. Yea I know it isn't to do with the cable, some people have been saying yea some have been saying hell no so I got confused and thought I might as well ask first Cheers
  2. Havn't been on here in a while, for memory sake I have a 1971 Morris 1300 Anyway, it has a cable speedo and no standard tach and I am getting sick of the no tach thing, is it possible to have a aftermarket tach on cable speedo and if so is it hard to do Oh and it has no brakes at the moment need to get that sorted actually, I think its just a leak, just havn't had time to have a look yet (master cylinder is basically empty, brakes work after pumping a few times to build pressure) and it still eats through oil almost faster than petrol and has started smoking again Thinking maybe its time just to sell it and move on but hey And before anyone says, no I havn't driven it on public roads since the brakes died, I am not that stupid
  3. Yes hydroelastic suspension is bouncy enough as it is I wouldn't take the car at any higher speeds than it already does (it can hold 100 fairly easily, never had it over 100), and speeding well why bother in a car like the morris, it would just be getting TO the speed limit a bit faster
  4. *stomps foot in anger* I WANT A TURBO!!!!!!!!!
  5. cheers i will have a read through that when i get a chance yea i heard the metro turbo engine was a good fit but i seem to be lacking in finding metro turbos around the place haha
  6. Yea I really don't want to do a whole engine transplant though, too much of a hassle and the current engine is sweet The whole landcrab idea stuffs me for transplants a bit too
  7. How easy/hard would it be to get this running in my 71 morris 1300? Is it even possible? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=77932651
  8. Yea, no, I didn't, read what I said again, show me where it says I did listen to what she said
  9. yea? never thought of that, ill investigate it all after exams i guess Oh yea, I remember, should or shouldn't it have lead additive in the fuel? 99% sure thats a yes but then my mum confused me the other day by saying no it shouldn't
  10. There is a few around that I could scam parts off, but they have mostly all been sitting out for years and are rusted as well, and colour matching is hard Going to see what can be done to that door to fix it up a bit, but yea, so gutted about it, visually it WAS the best door on the car haha
  11. They didn't show me, they didn't mention anything about it to me, I never thought to have a look before paying as why they hell would I ever expect it to look like that, especially not for $280. I just had a breif glance at the car from 2 metres away where i pulled in when went to collect it and didn't notice it Have been in contact with them, they don't care and won't do anything about it, also had a decent read over the invoice on which there is a note hidden away saying about it warping, and claiming they discussed it with me (yea right - was never mentioned) And as of now the tip stays, yes it is gross, yes I bought it as a joke, but also yes it looks infinately times better than the standard pea shooter sticking out the back. Not doing anything more with the car till after exams, and may look at getting a new exhaust system for it or at least tidying up the one thats on it
  12. I am not sure, I do know that the one they had replaces was munted, as in somebody had drilled it and tried cutting grooves in it and random shit like that, don't ask, it wasn't me But yea, I was only charged for one so I figure they only replaced 1, rear brakes are well balanced now, I seem to think maybe the right hand side was replaced recently? Not sure though
  13. Just thought I would tidy this thread up with a good ending Took it to Precision Brake and Clutch in Takanini - great place, awesome guys, good service. They did the following to the rear brakes: Replace left rear brake shoe Fit 2 new rear wheel cylinders Machine brake drums both rear Bleed brakes and test All up charged for 1 hour labour and all over cost for basically semi-overhauled rear brakes for $217, passed its WOF resit no sweat
  14. oh yup - will be mean when you get it on the road again new photos up in my project thread
