  1. Thanks team, no replacement shocks at least based on all the forums im on altho im sure someone can custom something for a price, looking to avoid a cert in this car. at least for now (we all know how sliperly that slope is) Ill pop into Chamberlains and see what they say, Thanks
  2. Back in the day, you used to be able to shorten macpherson style struts with reset (or makita) springs, does this require cert if your still above 100mm? If so does anyone know who would do this in CHC or DN?
  3. This is one epic build.... a true "from back in my day" resurection, wonder how much wild turkey/wine/homebrew went into the build? haha Must be getting real close to a test drive now.
  4. Just went back to look at the build thread... started in 2007! Guess the progression just keeps on keeping on, Adds to the follow list.
  5. Had similar problem with early corollas, we always use to bash the inner gaurd seam flat (fold it over) but not sure it this would be legal in this day and age... altho id still do it on my own personal whip.
  6. Every 6 months it get a fresh round of rust repair done… I even found some more that I didn’t know existed purely because I have a parts car and it was rusting there, sure enough check and yup there it is, I really need to get some kind of sprey on rust kill type product and do it from the inside as it’s currently rusting from the inside out… I have found a preferable project so this one’s gunna keep getting patches on patches although I’m doing a good job of putting new steel in it haha
  7. I peeled it this AM ... On the plus sides i might have a WOF by CoB today... and with any luck i will also have "new" wheels on... my garage wanted them checked as they had been on a rally car in thier past life and may not be true etc etc. Fingers crossed, might be my last weekend to get anything sorted before Marahau.
  8. As per subject line. Have imperfections in the paint wondering if there is an option other than sanding or if that is the only option?
  9. In the interest of actually getting a wof I scrape it off… gunna have a wee cry to mr wof man still and see if there is any leniency…
  10. How would i find out what classificiation a vechicle has? Purely on the offchance... othewise ill get the razor out.
  11. Not CHC but close by between Kaiapoi and Rangiora, Corrie at Elite exhaust, can highly recommend.
  12. Retro Automotive on Otaki Street has done several show cars and 2 mates have had thier car painted there in the past with mint results.

    Sound deadening

Would you Guy’s still put felt down in between the sound deadening and carpet or will only carpet over top of sound deadening alone be sufficient?

  18. Hi guys Sent his is possibly the wrong place for this. But I’m keen to try and make my car as quiet as possible as far as road noise go... I have seen the likes of dynamat and When I was talking to a carpet manufacturer they recommended putting the felt back in. Just wondering what the best combo is of an older car? Did a search but couldn’t find anything conclusive. Cheers

  20. Sure.. can I keep 4x4 haha? not keen on de sprang but certainly a lol lower and a lil wider offset might be applicable in the future
  21. To discus the build/progress etc etc
  22. Got this as daily hack. have fixed a fair bit of cancer. Ideal plan is to tidy up as much as possible without a full ground up build....maybe a set of custom rims.. dont have a lot of photos as such but here is one I took before I bought it. The previous owner lived it so I'm continuing the legacy Discussion thread
